Help... where can i download the driver for the SM Bus Controller and Video Controller of acer aspire m1620? i changed the operating system fron Windows Vista to Windows XP. i tried to look for it in www.acer.com but i cant find it.

    yeah! i hav a same problem ican't install a driver in my PC any one who can help mee????? waw i got a big risk...

    My bad. You have a desktop, not a laptop. Download System Information for Windows from here:http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html
    It will tell you the model of motherboard in your system, which will make finding the SM Bus Controller driver much easier.
    Also, some of the M1620 machines appear to have SIS Mirage 3 Graphics while others have ATI. Let us know what SIW says your machine has.

Neeed to install sm bus controler driver for Acer aspire 5100 dos anyone knows where to get it
The sm bus controller can usually be loaded from the chipset download available at Acer support drivers. If you have XP, I will include a link below for the driver download. I will also include the link to Acer support, just cick on drivers > put in "notebook" > "Aspire" > 5100. A list of drivers will appear, pick your operating system from the drop down menu and under that a list of driver downloads will appear. Download the drivers for "chipset" and "Card bus reader" . Make sure to copy the entire link below and paste to your browser address bar. If the link doews not complete, go to the link further down, and follow the directions above.

Dont supot driver as ethernet controller, sm bus
goto the ACER website, i use the exact same laptop, they provide all the drivers for Windows Xp Home/Pro Vista HB,HP,B,U both x64 and x86
Depending on your operating system, is what drivers you need, linux drivers are not provided.

My acer aspire m1620 has no audio device
You can download the correct driver by right click on "My Computer" and then choose "Device Manager" scroll down and see if your computer recognizes the audio. If it does then make sure your cables are connected. If not you can right click and choose "Install Drivers" and then choose "Install from the Internet" Or you can go to Acer's website and choose the correct drivers for your exact model. No video/sm controller drivers for xp
hello,

YOu can download driver from the acer wbsite. or copy and paste to the address bar the link provided by geek63640, and then in "product line" select "Desktop" then in product select "aspire T 180" and in the download column select what driver you want to download.

But recommended to download all the drivers and then install all. pls install in series.

SM bus controller is the same as chipset driver. You can go to this link & download & install the
Aspire E380/T180 Chipset Driver
Windows XP.
