Question about LG Washing Machines

Open Question

My lg wm2233hd model washer was running fine then made a horrible noise so I stopped it. I tnoughtI maybe put to many clothes in it so I took some out and restarted it and it was fine . I then stopped it put the other clothes back in and it wouldn't do anything. I've tried unplugging it, tried a new load of clothes and it won't start the load. What can I do?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Check that the washer supply is OK using another item - a kettle for instance. If it's not check your breakers/fuses. Reset/replace if necessary and if the same thing happens, or if there was nothing wrong with the breakers/fuses in the first place, sorry but with such a fault it is virtually impossible for anybody on this forum to remotely guess what could be wrong with your washer. It could be internal wiring/plugs sockets, control panel switches, control PCB.

I fear that your only real option is a service call as the engineer will have the right equipment to safely diagnose what is wrong ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Check to see that the springs that hold the tub assembly to the frame are attached. Sounds like one may have come off on the machine.

My washer makes a horrible noise in the final spin cycle on all washes

does ur washer shake & move also? if so, it may be that the loads r too small. especially with top loaders, when the machines not full, the clothes r not evenly distributed and that could do it. if u stop the cycle and evenly distribute the clothes, it should stop. hope that helps.

if the clothes bunch up on one side the tub doesn't spin evenly and goes off balance, the tub will start banging all around,if this happens, open the lid and move the clothes around to even them out so all the wieght isn't on one side,it's a common thing mostly with a few items in the washer but can happen with any size load.if it keeps happening send the brand name and the model number.you should be fine.

you ahve a clogged pump
remove the toe kick
the pump will be right there on the right
get a towel and disconnect the hoses
you will see a sqaure sump take that hose off
and clean it out
check to make sure there is nothing in the pump
reassemble and should be fine

Loud Grinding noise in Dryer

I know this prob is old, but I had the very same prob with my dryer (very loud squeaking noise). The prob was that there was a screw stuck between the rotating part and the stationary part. Meaning - look inside the dryer (main area - where the clothes go) and rotate it by hand. You may hear and see something causing the friction. Gerard

Excessive wobble

If there's a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
