Generally the wire goes to the kill switch which in turn is screwed down to the body of the saw creating a ground when switched to the off position

SOURCE: Repaired Husqvarna 41 chainsaw won't start.

Hi

The off switch of the chainsaw has to establish the continuity to kill the running engine.First check the switch with a measure apparat.Then check the continuity of the two wiring harness,sepparately.One wire is atached to the ignition module with a screw and goes to the off position of the switch.The other one towards the on position of the switch.Check the spring!

SOURCE: 455 rancher chainsaw does not pump oil to the chain

If you look under the machine by the chain you'll see a flat head screw (next to the sprocket) which controls the bar and chain oil flow . Try to turn the screw and check if there's any oil flow to the chain . If not you will need to replace the oil pump (part # 537 10 55-02 which will cost you about $35.00) Hope this help

SOURCE: wanted coil ignition module for Husqvarna 394xp chainsaw

I found an IPL for your saw here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter 394 as model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

I chose the 92-10. The coil and wire were manufactured as separate pieces. I found both at Jacks Small engines. It is interesting that the same ignition wire fits a Poulan at 1/2 the cost. About $86 for both pieces at Jacks. HTH

Ignition module gap
Place a business or index card between the fly wheel and coil, rotate until the magnetic attraction pulls everything tight together. Tighten the coil screws, rotate the flywheel until the attraction eases and remove the card. Ensure nothing contacts when flywheel is rotated.

Hello i have a rancher 455e with no spark at times runs a short time boggs down and dies then no start or spark ????

No spark could be a number of issues. Break in ignition wire, faulty switch, incorrect timing space, faulty ignition module, bad sparkplug or the spark plug lead.
The running problem is most likely a fueling issue, check the fuel lines, filter and make sure fuel is getting into the cylinder.

Cant figure out how to hook the kill switch back up

There should be a double wire from the ignition unit, both with female terminals on, the insulated terminal is the earth return and pushes onto the spring steel ******** the side of the air filter housing, the other terminal slides into the side of the red plastic switch, if you look at the side of the switch it is moulded in the side for the terminal to slide into it.

How do you fix a broken stop switch on a 455 rancher

The stop switch is just a red plastic rocker that connects the earth cut out wire from the ignition unit, to a grouding wire to cut the ignition,it can be changed on the machine, however it is much easier to remove the air filter housing, start by removing the screws, two at the top and two at the bottom, disconnect the earth wire and the earth return wire, the upper wire has a spade conection onto the earthing strip, the lower wire also has a spade conection but just pushes into the red ignition rocker switch,unhook the choke from the carb, once the housing is removed gently pry out the blue choke pull from the housing, once removed pry off the broken rocker switch, this is sprung loaded via the earthing strip, pay close attention to how this is fitted, so as you know where to re fit if ( take a photo with a mobile phone to help with re instalation )now fit the new rocker switch, re install the earthing strip, re fit the choke pull, re assemble the air filter housing onto the back of the carb, re connect the wires.

Husqvarna chainsaw no spark

Ignition systems on newer saws are a solid state all-in-one package. Disconnect the kill switch wire from the ignition pack to make sure that the switch isn't broken. Use a fresh spark plug to check spark with. An old one that is black inside is likely shorted. If still no spark, replace the ignition module. Use a piece of card stock to set the flywheel magnets to module gap, then tighten screws

Check to see if your ignition switch ( on& off) switch still have both wires attached. Common problem with that saw, loose or disconnected wire
