Question about Panasonic NN-T783SF 1350 Watts Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Left Microwave on while empty

I have a Panasonic Microwave Model NN-T783SF. I set the clock to 30 minutes and instead of pressing the timer function button I pressed start. The Microwave was empty. At approx 20 min there was an electrical burning smell and I realised what I had done. By this time the display was no longer showing. I pressed stop and opened the door. the whole microwave was very warm. When I reached behind to turn the power off at the wall the back was hot. I have not tried to use it since as I wan to find out the likely damage and if it is worth repairing. I am an electrician but have very limited electronics knowledge. Thanks for any advise you can give. Cheers, Jason

I just turned it back on and put a bowl of water in it. Display seems ok. Set time to 1.00min started normally but only ran for about 22 seconds before turning beeping once and stopping. reset for 30 seconds and it did the same, ran for about 22 seconds then beeped once and turned off.
Hope this helps with possible diagnosis.
    Thanks, Jason

Hi James, Well it sounds to me as the Magnatron burnt out. There are tests you can so, so to familiarize you with what it looks like by copying the link. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PANASONIC-INVERTER-MICROWAVE-OVEN-MAGNATRON-2M236-M42-NN-SF550W-1000W-/262200547027?hash=item3d0c5ed6d3:g:ucsAAOSwSHZWdkWb#ht_1687wt_726
If you are prepared to open up the unit there are a couple of checks you can do on the mag. If you see the item described above in your microwave, chances are its that. With all the video's readily available to view there is little or no point in my describing to you for what to do next so I will advise you look at 'YT' and search for 'TESTING A MAGNATRON' This should hopefully lead you to the conclusion that your Magnatron is faulty.
If it is not, then there is a possibility that the door switches could be at fault, but it's best do do this in a step by step approach to eliminate the issue.
WORD OF WARNING: I have studied electrics but even with my knowledge I received a 250v JOLT across my body due to being careless. I touched the case at the same time as the LIVE in the microwave. DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE. IF YOU do not feel confident to remove the cover on the microwave, then DON'T and if you do then then MAKE DOUBLE SURE IT'S NOT PLUGGED IN. I won't forget so easily If fix another.
::((((( . BE SAFE.!!!

SOURCE: Door Release Button not working on Panasonic Microwave NN-T664SFT

The problem I had experienced with the Door not opening easily will be resolved by removing the micowave oven top cover with a tamper proof torx head, replacing the door switch and reinstalling the top cover.

How do I set the clock on a Panasonic microwave nn-e271wm

To set the clock, you need to press Timer/Clock twice. Then press the 10 Min keypad several times until you get to the correct hour. Then press the 1 Min keypad as needed to get to the closest 10 minute period below the current time. Finally press the 10 Sec keypad several times to reach the current time. Then press Timer/Clock once to exit the time set feature.

Panasonic has the manual for the NN-E271WM on their downloads page: http://www.panasonic.eu/Downloads/en_GB/popup.html . Enter the model number and then click View. You will need to accept the Panasonic Terms Of Use and click View again. The direct link to the manual is currently http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z5845f124z3z39cabz656ez706466z25z9709ff8b3ba329b0c218b9bf248a6442e93022b3/tsn3/data/ALL/NNE281BMBPQ/OI/912715/NN-E271WME281BME281MM.pdf . See page 21 in the manual (23 in the PDF) to see the procedure.

I hope this helps.

Door button does not function for panasonic microwave=need to know how to take the face off so that I can fix it

Take side panels off and press the button through from the back, my husband has just done this tonight on our Panasonic microwave model NN-ST477 as the door would not open. He found a piece of plastic like a hook had snapped off. The door now opens and functions normally. Took about 30 minutes to do . If and when it becomes stuck again we know that we will need a new replacement button. Hope this helpskind regardsChristine

Everythink works except the microwave will not start. Is there a fuze that can be replaced to fix this ? Model # NN-2551 I found the user manual on-line, but I can't find the product spec sheet breakdown...

I'm not sure what you mean by "everything works". do you mean that all the lights and the timer work. Could it be in the timer or clock mode? Try pushing the timerand cancel buttons together.
Try changing the time using the clock function.

I believe your model has a child lockout. Please check your manual for instructions on unlocking this function.

Is it hardwired or plugged in? If it is plugged in you can try a power reset, by unplugging it, waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in. It is completely unsafe to try to work on a hardwired Microwave.

Please let us know if this solution is helpful to you. Thank you.

How do I get my Panasonic Inverter microwave out of demo mode? I think my toddler might have hit something to put it in demo!

Hello Two options to try: a) Press the Clock / Timer button 3 times b) Unplug, wait a few seconds, then re-plug to power up with the factory settings. You will need to reset your clock and any favourite settings.
This should work with all Panasonic Microwave models.
Good luck

Model NN 9804 U microwave in Demo Mode

No owner's manual?

If you're in the US, find it here.

If you're not in the US, see Panasonic.net and look for support / download links.

Otherwise, I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

The magnetron will be damaged and now emit low output as there is nothing to absorb the energy.
I would dispose of it and get a new one.
