SOURCE: Pull Chains Replacement

Replacements are available at Home Depot and Lowes. This is a regular 4-wire single-layer switch.

Mark the old wires, so you know which ports they go to in the switch (marked L, 1, 2, and 3) -- then remove the old wires by pressing a paper clip into the hole of each wire while pulling firmly on the wire. Then just push the wires into the new switch, into the marked holes.

I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!

SOURCE: Ceiling fan pull chain connected but does not click on

There is a pull chain switch inside the fan termination housing. you will have to take the little cover off and remove the switch. it has 2 small screws with wire landed under them. Turn off the power at the breaker before working on the switch. take this little ****** out and put in a new one. you can get them at the Home Depot or equivelant. it don't matter if the new switch is a little bigger but it still has to fit. use some judgement here. wire it in the place of the old one, turn the power back on at the breaker and it should be ready to go. Presto.

My remote for a crosswinds 52 inch will not work and now I can't get the fan to work by the pull chain. The light still works by pullchain not fan. What can I do?

Disconnect power at the source. Count to 10 and restore power. Experiment with any number of combinations of remote and pull chains to find something that works. Decide whether to use pull chains or remote but not both.

Lights' Pull Chain Won't Retract; What do I do?

you should take it down and throw it out,it will take less time and money to buy a new one that is remote control, they work better and no chains to get hung up on,,you could also buy a switch, spend time figuring out which wires to unsolder and resolder, and put back together and hope you didnt wire it wrong and burn down your house.

Lights won't work on Harbor Breeze ceiling fan

Ceiling fans operated with remote controls, pull chains, and/or wall switches tend to get confused and just fail. You can try disconnecting power at the source and, while pausing briefly, remove batteries from the remote and push all buttons to eliminate the "stuck button" cause. Then, reconnect power and try various combinations of controls until something works or you give up in frustration.

As there are only two wires for the light kit I would say you have a bad switch or bad light kit. Send a pic if you can.

My control won't activate the light on my Hunter fan. The light comes on via pull chain fine, and the control works the 3 speeds on the fan, but the light won't respond.

Check the wiring on your receiver to make sure the light wire is connected. You have to have the light on with the pull chain and then use the remote to turn it on/off.

Changing light bulb in ceiling fan

At the top of the pull chain there is a metal piece; this is threaded on a bolt. Unscrew the metal piece and lower the globe to expose the bulbs then remove and replace the bulb(s). I recommend flourescents as they are more economical, run cooler and last linger than incandescents (regular bulbs).
