Question about LG Dryers

1 Answer

Faulty power switch

I have a DLE2516W front load dryer that goes on & off. The power cord is fine, it seems like the problem is coming from the Power button because the dryer won't turn on or turn off immeidately when I press it. Small thing I should tackle myself (with your help please!) or should I call someone?

It could cause by the door switch not closing firmly, check the door first, make sure it close firmly. If it does not a problem, you would think about a serviceman needed.

SOURCE: The Drum on my LG DLE2512W Dryer will not turn

no problem with motor or control board. fault is with the motor capacitor only. this is often attached to the motor or near it. the value of the capacitor will be printed on it (usually about 8uf) and you should be able to source from an electrical spares shop

SOURCE: Wont start, power to all parts, is there a reset button?

There is a wiring diagram on the access panel on the back, or in the control head.

Follow the path from incoming power through all switches and leading to the timer.

I suspect either the door switch or start switch has failed.

SOURCE: Dryer has no power

Have you manually reset your breaker? Sometimes breakers can seem fine but they actually aren't. Physically turn the breaker off and then back on. If this doesn't work, you will need to find out if your particular brand and model has a fuse that needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: samsung front load dryer had a burning smell-it

ck recalls on this issue.
there may be one.
under warranty??
do not buy samsung they are notorious for having problems.
sounds like the heating element and relay may have went out.
however if it does not start up at all it could be the motor itself.

Dryer power problem.

Good day,
No fuse.
If your sure the power and power cord are O.K., then there are three possibilities.
1. The door switch has failed.
2. Contacts in the timer burned out.
3. Worst case scenario, the motor failed.

You will need an ohm meter to check the switch. The motor and timer can usually be tested at an appliance parts house. Call first.
There are 2 different front panel setups. The first has 2 screws at the bottom. Remove the screws, and then pull the bottom toward you then unclip the top, being careful of the wires to the door switch.
The second has no screws on the bottom of the panel. You must use a very thin putty knife to depress the clips where the front panel mates to the top. Tight fit. Press in the clips, one on each side, one at a time until the top falls forward, then lift the the panel off the bottom clips.

LG Dryer DLE2516W contiuously trips breaker but only on heat setting greater than low

Your circuit breaker may be bad. Run dryer and if breaker gets hot after 10min or so the breaker is bad.
Higher heat settings draw more amperage thus tripping the bad or undersized breaker. 30 amp 2 pole breaker required.
Ck. the power cord for signs of arching. Replace power cord or outlet if damaged.

Model DLE2516W Dryer sounds like something is

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication.
And also the noise could be the front seal is out of alignment or broken and this may cause the machine to be slower in tumbling.
If you have a front loading machine,
Remove the electrical box that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. Now you should be able to see the front seal and see if it is ok and now this will also expose the drum and belt Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers.
Check your rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If they don't then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:
Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps
