A bladder tank is a water storage tank that is used to allow a pump to compress air inside the tank. Water can't be compressed so the tank is built with a bladder or balloon inside that allows the pump to be able to build up pressure inside the tank. This allows a pressure switch to turn on or turn off the pump. Typically if the bladder goes bad inside the tank the pump will cycle rather frequesntly.

We have a 36 gallon Utilitech water tank with a bladder. We have a great deal of air running thru our water line. We were told to get a tank without a bladder. Is this the route you would go?

Tank without bladder is fine for non drinking water. The air you are getting is being picked up by the suction line of your pump

We have a well. Hooked to a 36 gallon bladder tank. Lots of air coming thru the water line. Your thoughts? We were told we needed a tank without a bladder. Your thoughts?

The bladder is there to prevent the water from coming into contact with the metal tank. This is important when your drinking water is coming through that tank. If the tank is just being used for irrigation the bladder is not really necessary. You also have air between the bladder and tank so create pressure on the water and prevent short cycling of pump motor.
If air is coming up then there has to be some sort of leak on the piping or fitting on the suction side of your well pump. This can cause you to also lose your prime. Check the Check valve (prevents water from suction line going back into ground) for leaks around the fitting.

Is a 30-gallon bladder diaphragm holding tank best for me?

Yes, a bladder type tank is a lot more dependable. You can install a diaphragm into your bladderless tank but it will still need to be charged with air periodically.

Hot water boiler pipes are banging

First step is to bleed all air from the system. Add more manual vents and have at least one automatic air vent if necessary to properly bleed. An air filled compression tank without a bladder makes it difficult to control air in the system; system pressure is difficult to control. An air tank without bladder is more common in older systems. Replacing an air compression tank with a pre-charged bladder tank can be a great benefit in maintaining system pressure. If a bladder tank is already in place it may have a leak after many years of use. If the problem persists, then check the bladder to see if it has a leak. This may not be easily done during system operation and requires removal. Tanks come in various sizes; get a larger rather than smaller tank. A great help in the long run and will pay for itself in service calls quickly.

Pump starts and stops when using water frequently. Could my well be bad

Sounds like you have a bad pressure tank and the tank is waterlogged..... if it has a bladder in it, you can press the air valve on the top, and if water comes out, the bladder is torn and the tank needs to be replaced... if is not a bladder tank, then you might need to have a new air switch installed.

How do i fill the water

There is a tank within a tank design on these deep cleaners. Use warm tap water and fill the inner bladder.

The Tank-in-Tank system is designed with a bladder inside for

clean water. As you clean, the bladder will empty. Dirty water

collects in the tank outside the bladder.

My flotec pressure tank seems to be waterlogged, how do I recharge it?

I don't know your model. Generally, a newer pressure tank has a flexible bladder that separates the water from the air charge. If you have water on the top of your tank, the bladder has broken. It seems that Flotec tanks have replaceable bladders. Flotec Pressure Tanks
That is a link to a company that sells parts for theses tanks.

The pump goes on and off repeatedly

The pump should only run if you are using water. If you have a leak it will cycle on and off. If it only cycling fast when you're using water, you may need an expansion tank, sometimes referred to as a bladder tank for newer style. If you have a "bladder" tank , the bladder may be leaking and lost it's air charge. This bladder will have an initial air charge, and when the pump runs it will compress the bladder even further. When the pump shuts off the bladder is compressed. When you begin to use water, mainly low flow like one faucet, the bladder will begin to expand expelling the water from the tank until the pressure drops below that of the pump pressure switch. This makes the pump start and stop fewer times.

Tank bladder has hole in it in the pressure tank

Turn off pump, open the tank water valve and let water out, now try and fill tank with air, if the bladder is bad the air will come out the valve, if no air, just fill it to 40psi and you should be good to go.
Bad bladder means you need to buy a new tank. Hope it just lost pressure and its ok.
