I have an LG and it's doing the exact same thing, What did you figure out in the end?

my phone is an LG the newest silver brand and it has been saying "searching for service" for a few days. I can get maybe 1x but it quickly disappears. I think i probably will have to get a new one because my last phone which was a samsung did the same thing.

Make sure that it is set in 'analog a' mode... you will find this under Settings>phone settings> system settings

Put a new battery in my phone, now it gives me an out of rane message. how do I fix this?

I don't know what model it is but try these:

1. Check the main base is powered up!
2.Take out the battery again and edit a few mins and return it. Place the handset on the base. Now try.

3. If that didn't work you are probably going to to reassign the handset to the base. Check your manual on how to do that.

This isn't really a solution but Nokia are not renowned for having the best batteries. My 6300 is also after 2-3 days in need of a charge, mainly because it's searching for a Net Work. Take the thing back and change it after 2 months something is wrong. Best regards

Blackberry 8800 Kills Battery within 12 hrs. Replaced 2 batts.

there are a lot of little things that drain the battery. i have made adjustments to my phone and the battery lasts me 3-5 days depending on its usage.

1. turn off the LED coverage indicator(usually blinks green when u have signal, red when u dont)
2. change your back light timer to 10, 20, or 30 seconds.
3. do not overcharge the phone, it will lower the capacity level of the battery. only charge it when its low and take it off when its full.
4. check the reminder notifications from messages/voicemail/txt,etc. set it to one or two.
5. check to see if you are roaming or searching for service. the constant searching drains the battery.
6. check to see that u have exited the programs u were using. if u have installed maps, navigation, etc and just back out of the program without exiting the GPS is constantly updating your position.
Hope this helps.

Phone says searching

The battery may be weak. Or it is too far from the base. Try exchanging the two. take the handset near the base and see if it will link.
