Check the gas cap. There is a vent to allow air into the fuel tank as the fuel is drawn out. If this vent becomes clogged, a vacuum can be formed in the tank. This can prevent gas from flowing to the carburetor.

Listen carefully when you remove the cap. If you hear a "whoosh," there likely was a vacuum.

Steele 9000 watt generator won't start

Hi Derrick
I assume you can turn over the engine, and the engine has run previously?
Check for spark, -take off the plug lead and connect an old spark plug to the ignition lead open the gap up to about 5/16 inch . Tie the thread of the spark plug to the engine to hold it and earth it with a bit of soft wire. Wind over the engine you should get a nice fat blue spark. If you get a nice spark do you can eliminate ignition issues. This just leaves fuel. You can then focus on this.

Brand new 9000 watt steele generator won't start

Try a little starting fluid in the intake. If it starts with that, then it is a fuel problem. Make sure the fuel valve is open on the bottom of the tank or at the carbureator, if there is one.

MR. Heater Portable Buddy model MH9B

the mr heater series units have a millivolt generator connected to a very small sensitive electromagnet in the valve body. inside the generator is a small insulated wire connected to the very tip of the generator. that and the outside copper tube forms the j-k junction. at the other end, the part that goes into the valve is a silver button and a gland nut. this forms the other part of the electric circuit. the inside of the valve has a spring and an iron slug with a rubber pad. the slug gets sucked into the electromagnet when the magnet is operating and holds the pad off its seat allowing propane to go through the regulator and valve. change out your generator and I'm sure your problems will be solved. mr heater has a web site.
