My Admiral Side By Side Freezer is leaking water onto the floor in front of the freezer and is icing up inside so that food is stuck together and we have huge blocks of ice at the bottom of teh frezer compartment
Solution #3 fixed it.
Pulled everything out of the freezer, found where the drain was, it was blocked with ice, hot water and then a flexible straw, the kind that comes from an ammusment park kids container, shoved it down the opening after the hot water and it cleared whatever was blocking the drain.
Thank you very much - Mark

I just fixed this problem with my Admiral. I noticed the problem when I found ice in the bottom of the freezer and water leaking out onto the floor. Here is what I did: remove all of the food from the freezer into large coolers. Pull-out the shelves, the icemaker bin, and thaw the basket with a hairdryer until you can pull it out. There are about 12 phillips head screws that hold a plastic baffle covering the freezer coils. Remove all of the screws and loosen but do not remove the icedispenser motor and freezer light (you can pry it up to get to the top screw of the baffle). Pull the top part of the baffle away from the back of the freezer and then slide the baffle up to reveal the defrost drip tray and drain. Use a hair dryer and screw driver to remove the iceblock from the drip try and to thaw any other ice in the bottom of the freezer. Also thaw the top of the drain. Now pull the freezer out from the wall and under the drain area in the back you will find the drain tube attached with a "Oh-Jesus" clamp - at least that is what we call them here in Indiana. Pinch the clamp with pliers and pull the drain tube down. Use a stretched out wire hanger to snake out the tube (I had lots of calcium deposit and a dust ball clogging the tube) and then replace. Test the system with a cup of water to make sure the drain works (should see water end up in the pan under the right front bottom drip tray). Replace baffle, icemaker motor/light, bin, shelves, food, done.
The problem is the defrost drain line. It is clogged and every time the unit goes into the automatic defrost drain mode, water backs up, freezes and is subsequently carried forward towards the door and out onto the floor. Clear the ice and blow the line out with a hose and then flush with very hot water. Repeat this process two to three times and you should be back to normal.
Where is the drain line and what do you mean "blow it out with a hose"?
Does anyone know someone who can fix this in the newcastle on tyne area

Hey friend, thank you for the post!
From my understanding you have water leaking out of the freezer of your Frigidaire refrigerator and onto the floor. I would like to ask you a couple of additional questions. First, do you see where the water is coming from? Secondly, what is the model number of your appliance? You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside cabinet of the fresh food compartment normally on the left side in a top mount. But on a side by side it can be found on the right hand side. I look forward to hearing back from you. -Matt

we have cleared the ice away ,what next?
We have exactly the same problem from inside the freezer bottom shelf leaking water outside and freezing the lower basket to bottom of freezer
Our fridge has water leaking on the floor in front. Then ice forms freezing the basket to the bottom.
huge block of ice in bottom freezer compartment of side-by-side. HOW do I access the drain to do all this? I took the rear panel off inside the freezer, but can't get to the drain
We have the same thing going on. It has caused our laminate flooring to pop! What a mess. Going to try the listed solution. Has that worked for others?
I also have the same problem.
Ice maker forms an icicle into the dispencer. I have made sure the refrigerator is level. when the ice maker is turned off with the lever, the icicle stops forming. The ice maker makes ice jst fine, but with the extra ice forming around the auger in the dispenser, you can't get it out. DR
Hello, I have GE. top freezer and have the same problem. The it leaks water and the freezer freezes to the point where the refrigerator cant get the cold air and becomes hot. Also when I have to defrost manually, the drain hole is always frozen also . Thanks
i have an admiral side by side as well, leaking water in front of the freezer compartment, and accumulates ice on the bottom of the freezer compartment.
took the back off the freezer, vaccuumed away all the built up dust. took the drain off out, cleaned with bleach, removed a clog in it, figured all this would take care of it.

Yes, I have the exact same problem, but my model is Magic Shef CSB2323ARW, 1999, 22.5 cu ft, side by side
I have the same problem with my Admiral Designer Series; fix it by defrosting it and clearing the drain with hot water, however this is a recurring problem for me. Started about 1 year after purchasing the fridge and has escalated. For the past year I've been going through this process every 4 weeks. Just did it 2 weeks ago and it's plugged again and leaking on the floor already. Won't ever buy this brand again.
not hooked up to water line..leaking
