Question about Vizio VO47L 47 in. LCD TV
I have a Vizio M47ONV. Left TV outside and think a raccoon peed on TV. TV comes on and the picture is clear, except for 2 grey bars that run vertically down the screen. I\'ve re-set the TV but still have vertical bars. Is this a board problem or is it the panel? Thanks, Jason
In my 30 years that\'s another first for me.. I guess it depends on location. It sounds like a panel issue. The ammonia in it will destroy it fast!

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

I just got quoted $705 from the Vizio certified repair partner. Nice. Nice and way too expensive. I may as well buy a new TV instead. It certainly won't be a Vizio. They told me a I needed a Y systainer, C systainer and a right-driver board.
Lame. I'm trying to find something local.

First you have to check if voltage and data are ok at the Y sustain board and the Y driver boards are not running hot. Even if you know how to replace these panels you must have a scope to adjust the v-set up and v- down. Not just a simple PNP. Trouble shooting a plasma is not a short time process to do it correctly. Please let a service center look at it for you.

Don't replace anything, Vizio has issued a lifetime warranty for this set because of this problem. No joke, call the customer service line and tell them you got the pop of death. They'll send someone out to 'repair' the set free of charge. If they can't fix it they'll give you a new one. Even if your mfg purchase warranty has expired. Call them and post the results. I've been fixing TV's longer than I care to admit and this is the first time I've actually seen a company stand behind their products like this. I bought a broken tv with the intent of fixing it and after replacing almost every board I could only manage to get the vertical racing stripe line, except mine was purple. I put it all back together and called to find out if there was a recall on this set and within 5 minutes the (Actual English speaking) gentleman told me to sit tight and he'd have a repairman come and do his thing. He did, and long story short, he couldn't fix it. Last week they delivered a new TV to replace this one. I was shocked. I think Vizio will have all my future business.

Bought mine in 2005 too.........just started with green (rainbow patterns in background), bad overall coloring and dark shadows on faces on the screen. 5 yr shelf life maybe!
