Question about Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines

1 Answer

Our Bosch coffee machine started making very weird loud noises in the middle of the night, out of the blue. Nobody used it the entire day, so it was on stand-by mode when the horrid noises occurred. The noises were persistent for quite the time, then a family member of mine switched it off, so the noises would stop. In the morning, as we switched it back on, it stopped making coffee. Like, the grinding begins, the beans disappear, then comes an irregular sound (not the loud one, more of like it's trying to do something, but can't. Like a printer with a paper jam or something), makes that sound twice, and then nothing happens. It does dispose the 'unused' grinded coffee though, where it's supposed to, as well as some water. We tried everything that was suggested in the manual, but, sadly, nothing works. What could be the problem?

SOURCE: Coffee Grinder on the EAM3500

We just went through the same situation. We opened the top the Magnifica to get to the grinder and removed the four screws to seperate the grinding pieces. Inside we discovered two black fosilized beans/stones! We removed those, cleaned out all the bean dust and it is working like new! Took about an hour.

SOURCE: Coffee machine Delonghi Magnifica grinding function not working

There are two reasons for this usually. Either the grinder is jammed or the grinding wheel or wheels have broken. Your machine needs to go to a repair shop to be looked at.

Grinder make a weird sound

Describe the weird sound. If it is very loud clacking like a machine gun type noise then vacuum our the hopper over the grinder and inspect for a stone jammed in there. The stones always look brown like a coffee bean, it is very common.

The machine makes a very loud noise when grinding the coffee beans. * Magnifica Espresson Machine *

Even a properly operating super automatic DeLonghi espresso machine makes enough coffee grinder noise to scare your pets and wake you next door neighbors. It's LOUD, no doubt about it. Only if your grinder makes more noise than that do you have a problem.

No water coming out makes noise and slite water and its not hot

Use vinegar as water and soak over night. Use the same vinegar as water the next day as if brewing coffee. Then use fresh vinegar as if brewing coffee. Next use water several times until you don't smell the vinegar. Now try brewing a pot of coffee. good luck.

Bosch Washing machine will not spin

Are you able to see the belt? Maybe it broke. If the drum is not spinning than sometime broke that would make the drum spin. If you machine is a direct drive then there is a problem with the drive shaft.

New to expresso machine - Cuisinart EM100c

This is a very loud machine. Here's the normal operation: You turn it on, and wait a few minutes for it to heat up, at which point the heating light will go off. Then make sure the function knob is turned to coffee, and it will start brewing. At first, it will make a short (loud) sound and then stop for a second. The purpose behind this is that the machine is pre-wetting the coffee, so that steam can more easily shoot through it in a couple of seconds. Then the loud noise will start again and run continuously until you turn the function knob back to the center. So, the sounds you were hearing were normal. There is a delay between when you hear the sounds and the water starts flowing out. If the coffee is pressed down (tamped) too hard, that delay will be longer. Hope this helps. You made a much better choice purchasing this machine rather than the more expensive EM-200, in my opinion.
