Baumatic BTC9750 cokker hood extractor has stopped working, 5 years old. No previously problems just stopped working with no power to the lCD display or motor. I have changed the fuse in the spur but no change. Is there a an internal fuse that may need replacing? If so where and how do you replace. Thanks D

SOURCE: Light blown then fan doesn't work!

take out switch assemby and check if the track of the pcb is blown - caused by the bulb goiung. you can often repair by soldering in wire links. bet you have 12a fuse in system - should be 3a. track has blown instead of the fuse

SOURCE: The extractor on my Baumatic

Sounds like it was the main fan motor - that caused the lights to blow in the first place.

Isolate from supply, and get the fan motor checked out. If it is burnt out (inside) you will need a replacement.

Hope this helps.

The light blew on my Beaumatic F60 extractor fan, thought the bulbs had gone so changed the bulbs, they lasted a couple of minutes before blowing again and then the fan wouldn't work also. I can't find a...

Look at the instruction/installation manual.
Are the bulbs 12volts or 120vac? If it is 12v there is a transformer that might be shorting to ground. If no transformer, the control panel or the control board has a short.

Have a baumatic extractor fan and am unsure how to clean filters. There are no sponge filters inside only steel fittings and mesh. Can anyone help me?

The steel mesh panels are the filters, can be hard to clean if not done regulary. You can put them in the top rack of your dishwasher but you shouldn`t use detergent as it can change the colour of them. The other option is just to wash them in dishwash detergent in the sink, can be a bit awkward and if not done regulary, a bit hard to get completely clean. I tend to soak them for a while, wash them and then run really hot water through them. Hope this helps.

Wiring problem

Yes just like damic says,
But dont forget to add a fused switch one as well.
You'll be glad you did.

What i did was..from the hood, i did a channel into the wall (with plastic conduit).. to go left then followed it down to make it flush.
(so i could put the cupboard back on)
Plastered then tiled up the area as well as added the extra plug.
It'll run sraight off the mains.
