Holding the F11 key at startup will bring you to the factory restore prompts for Lenovo PCs. The factory reset is driven from the ROM BIOS and not the command prompt.

To access the System Restore Gui from command prompt you will need to type in rstrui.exe
OR
%Windir%\System32\rstrui.exe

--------------
If you are experiencing Boot issues you will need to install a boot manager. If your system is missing a file or a file is broken, you may need to replace that file with a working version that's compatible with your OS Version.

If the partition is gone, a fresh install is your only option. Download and burn an ISO of your OS. Boot from that and choose your options.

Factory restore using command prompt

Read your computer's manual to find out what key to press before the booting process starts to initiate a recovery. That should work if the hard drive has a recovery partition that is still intact.
If not, use the recovery media that shipped with the computer.

What is the command prompt in the HP Pavilion a6037c Vista recovery partition that allow me to type the command to recover to the factory settings.

You can access the HP Recovery Manager software using the "F11" command during the boot-up process. The Recovery Manager is a preinstalled utility that can help you resolve issues on your computer system that affect its proper function, such as viruses, system errors or hardware corruption. Restore your computer only as a last resort, since all the files stored on the hard drive will be lost during the process. The restore process can also be helpful in wiping the computer clean before passing it along to another user.

Restart the computer. Press the "F11" key when the "BIOS" messages appear during the start-up process to open the "HP Recovery Manager." This step must be completed before Windows has a chance to load. Click "System Recovery" and click the "Next" button. Click "No" in the Microsoft Restore window that appears and click "Next." Click "Next" in the "System Recovery" window to initiate the restore process. The hard drives will be reformatted and the computer's software returned to the factory settings. Click "Finish" to restart the computer with the original operating condition in place.

Restore windows XP in safe mode:
To start System Restore using the Command prompt, follow these steps:

Restart your computer, and then press and hold F8 during the initial startup to start your computer in safe mode with

a Command prompt.
Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode with a Command prompt option.
If you are prompted to select an operating system, use the arrow keys to select the appropriate operating system for

your computer, and then press ENTER.
Log on as an administrator or with an account that has administrator credentials.
At the command prompt, type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER.
Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore your computer to a functional state.

Use system utility tool like RegInOut to repair corrupt registry and windows files.
