Cannot get oven to work

I have just purchased a house with a st george supermatic oven (model U81F.O) and cannot get oven to operate. Elements work fine and have been told stove was working. Seems to need a combination of switches to start and the instruction book is difficult to understand. Please help!

Could have something to do with the auto timer or the stop knob. If you play with this you should be able to get the oven to go.

My St George Grillmaster oven is not working, I suspect it is something to do with the automatic timer switch, could that be correct

It could be, but the oven would still work when it's NOT in timer mode. Does it work in broiler mode? Top element should get hot. Check the elements if you can. A visual inspection, for burned areas. If nothing there, could just be burned wire(s). Wiring/ elements need to be ohmed out.

You will probably need 2 people, 1 each side,

If the hinge is broken, and they usually break inside the wall of the oven, it will be very difficult to slide it off the broken hinge.
Hinges are available from EDIS SPARES 1800 125 039
