Restarting problem, wierd whtie text

Every time I attempt to turn on my computer I came a menue that says, Windows failed to restart properly blah, blah... so I click start window's normally and it does a disk scan, freezing and this pops up: !! 0xc0000034 !! 371/69821 ($$_boot_pxe_hu-hu_10bb1b0d9255ddec.cdf-ms) that is blinking. Help me? OH, and I know that each windows disk (which I lost) is set up specifically for each computer. I also know that there is a way that you can regain that information and burn it onto another CD, I'm just not sure how. I need help with both of these problems.

Hi there.

0x0000034 errors are normally associated with the registry. If you were given a specific recovery disc for your machine, then yes, that disc is set specifically for your model of laptop. If you had an actual Windows XP or Vista OEM disc, which would be gold in colour and have the Microsoft logo hologram, then you could just borrow a friends disc, if they have one.

When you turn the computer on, you can press F2 or Del to open your BIOS settings. Have a look through them to see if you have anything associated to a recovery option. If you do, it will also tell you on the right, what keys you need to press on start-up. If you can't see anything, another thing to try, when you first turn the laptop on, is to press Alt + F10, Alt + F12, Ctrl + F10, or even Ctrl + F12. These are the most common keys to open the recovery program.

Let me know if any of these options do or do not work.

I am having a problem with my computer as it is not starting up properly. I am unable to get to the welcome screen as it keeps restarting automatically. Is there anything that I can do.

A quick F8 right before when you'd normally see the "Windows" logo of it booting will pull up a text menu, use down arrow to get to "Disable Automatic Restart on Failure" and hit enter on it. If it's still restarting automatically, it could be virused or a deeper hardware or driver issue causing the problem.

RESTARTING COMPUTER(AMIGOS)

hi powee;
have you recently installed some device driver?

This error usually occurs after the installation of a buggy device driver, system service, or BIOS. To resolve it quickly, restart your computer, and press F8 at the character-mode menu that displays the operating system choices. At the resulting Windows 2000 Advanced Options menu, choose the Last Known Good Configuration option. This option is most effective when only one driver or service is added at a time.
