Question about Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

1 Answer

I receive the same "errr" message. The photo shop said it was a bad contact, they cleaned them with an eraser and made sure there was good contact. Problem was slightly better, but still exists. I have to remove the battery to clear the problem, turning it off and back on does no good. You can actually feel the lense move ever so slightly. Camera has gone back to Nikon for a repair. Very disappointed at this point with this. Camera store acknowledged that they have seen many of these.

I have the same issues, mine is in repairs for 6 weeks, I'm not happy! The store we returned It to said they have not seen these issues before. My screen also stopped working and my lens was loose ... I hope it comes back okay!

I had the same problem (same kit). I even exchanged the kit for a new one, and had the same issue. I'm convinced it's the connection between the camera and the lense - when I wiggled the lense, it would sometimes return to normal. But usually I had to remove the battery to get it back. I considered cleaning the contact points, but then the problem just went away. I've been shooting hundreds of times, without it happening once - although I haven't taken the lense off the whole time.

3 reasons u get an "err" msg are

    1. lens aperature not at smallest stop (f22 for example) turn aperture ring to smallest aperture setting or largest number

    2. No memory card, or card not formatted or the magnetic latch of the memory card is sensitive try closing it firmly , or try changing memory card may it is damaged by force pullout.

    3. weak batteries (4- AA and 2- CR123)try changing them.

    4. Try changing or taking out lenses.

i hope something work out for u lemme know

My theory is the plastic lens mount is not strong enough to support the lens and maintain a proper connection between the camera body contacts and the lens contacts.

This problem is widespread and Nikon needs to own up to their design flaw.

Why I can't send or receive photos with sms?

I have to go to Gallery, go to the photo I want to send, select Share, then select the Messaging app. On my Messaging app there isn't a way from selecting a photo.
For receiving photos, see if they are automatically put in your folder, like contact info is put directly in your contacts list without even opening the message - and if you did open it, it would show a blank message.

Receives fine transmission is very poor

Transmit issues can be related to a bad or poorly charged battery. It takes more energy to transmit than to receive. Try swapping batteries with a known good radio to see if it solves the problem. Clean your battery contacts with a pencil eraser and if needed replace the battery pack.

Best regards.

Permanently delete text messages from iPhone

iPhone Data Eraser would definitely erase your current data and permanently delete iPhone messages, but you can always protect your iPhone's data by using a backup recovery software.

Radio shuts off intermittently all wiring was cheched and is good

If the wiring checks good you may have bad solder connections it the radio or the contacts on the face and subpanel (the part the face connects to on the front of the deck). Try cleaning the contacts on the face and subpanel with either qtips and rubbing alcohol or a pencil eraser. An old toothbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol might work too.

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could mean several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:
Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Thank you

Handycam suddenly won't turn off. When I remove the battery it turns off ,of course, but when I reinstall the battery it starts up even though it is on off. If I try to record it won't and a C:13:01 shows...

I think it is Sony handycam but not sure what model it is.
Please provide model number to find out helpful info for you.
Model number would be written on sticker pasted at bottom of camcorder.
Thanks.

Battery charger not working

make and model would help, general help do you have voltage tester? if so look at charger and find voltage output, test contacts and if lower than listed charger has gone bad, also clean all contacts with pencil eraser to make sure they are clean on battery and gun, if charger is good and contacts clean either battery is bad test in another device or test voltage, if battery good the drill is bad

Nikon D50 blinking "Err" message

Make sure the lens is mounted fully (give it a little twist to see if the error clears). Also, check the gold contacts inside the body, where the body touches the gold "points" on the lens, to make sure they are clean. A pencil eraser is a good cleaning device for these contacts. I hope this solves it for you.

Receiver speaker doesn't work

I had the problem. One of two things is wrong: 1. The contact springs on the back of the speaker (inside the case) have slipped off their contact points; 2. Or your speaker has died. Go to mytreo.net and in the TREO 600 discussion group, find the BUZZ FIX. It will give you instructions with photos for opening the case and performing the BUZZ FIX. DO THAT! If you don't have the buzz now, you will! Check the springs on the back of the speaker to make sure that they haven't been stretched out of shape. Compress them a little to make sure that they will line up with their respective contacts. Clean the contacts with the eraser of a lead pencil. Reassemble the phone. If you still have no tones or the ability to hear you have a bad speaker. Order a new one, and replace the bad one. I had the problem, and this is how I fixed it. It really is fairly easy.
