trying ta download music dosent show up on my comp (windows xp service pack 2) how do i get it to recognize device and show up

  • mimi3g4s May 04, 2009

i have tried everything but nothing is working. i have vista and the very first time i connected my clip, it worked. it didn't work the second or third time, but it worked the fourth. after that, it's not working. my sansa clip says its charging, but it doesn't show up under my computer or windows media player. i tried holding the power button up for 10 seconds until it restarted and shut itself down, but it didn't work. i have even tried the 'forced msc' method, but it hasn't worked. i'm pretty sure that my sansa clip is stuck in mtp mode. even when i change the setting to msc mode it is still recognized by my device manager as an "mtp device." is there any way to fix this?

Just figured mine out. turn your clip off. put the slider in the hold or lock position. press and hold the center button on your clip. continue to hold while attaching the usb to your clip. keep holding the center button as clip powers up. after appox. 12-15 seconds, your computer should read the clip. i am running windows xp and this is the ONLY way my comp. will read the clip. but it works great!! good luck!

Under the settings -> USB Mode I switched it from Autodetect to MSC and XP recognizes it just fine now.

There might be a sync option in the menu on your sansa that you must enable first. Look for that

Can't add or remove music off my Sansa Rhapsody 2GB

first try this...

1 put on hold and hold record button while u turn on (your sansa is now in recovery mode)
2 connect your sansa to your comp via usb cable a box should show up saying the firmware version
3 close the window and disconnect your sansa (it will restart)

if that doesnt fix your problem try this...

1 connect your sansa to comp via usb cable
2 right click start on windows desktop go to explore
3 scroll down to your sansa's drive rifght click it go to properties
4 go to tools tab and click "check now" under error checking will take awhile and will erase your memory on the sansa but it will work again

I hope my post was helpful let me know!!!!

Sandisk Sansa Clip 2GB not detected by XP SP2

Change the USB Mode to auto-detect and see if you get better results. If that fails, switch entirely to MTP mode.

Sansa 2gb clip

While the player is connected to the computer, you will not be able to go through the menu, play music, etc. Only after you have disconnected it from the PC will it work.

Sansa Clip does not show up on computer

I had the same problem all you've got to do is first turn on the sansa clip. Then go to settings. After that scroll down to USB mode (second from bottom) then it woul probably say auto detect. Scroll down to MSC then hit enter. If that doesn't work try MTP mode.
