My refrigerator is also RS2534VQ, bought in 2004.

Freezer side is working ok, but the Fridge side is not cool enough, even though I set up the target temp to 36F, the real temp inside Fridge is about 54F.

    What I did:

Saw some ices in the botton sections, cleaned the ices. Unpluged the refrigirator for 3 hrs, then plug in.

    result:

the Fridge side temp is only low to 54 even though I set up to 46.

    Any thoughts:

    1. fan does not work? where is the fan? in the back or botton of refrigirator?

    2. temp sensor is not working correctly? where is the sensor? can not find inside Fridger

    3. Is this issue covered by standard five years manufacture warranted(compressor, evaporator, condenser, drier, connecting tubing)?

    thanks,

    John G

Temperature sensor for the refrigerator section is on the top above the light. there3's dual evaps on this model and what may have happened is that the refrigerator froze up and the styrofoam gets broken when you try to take off. that causes the air to bypass the coil causingg it to freeze up.

Check freezer... for Frost build up and if Fan is blowing, Check condenser... To make sure clean, and the fan is blowing by compressor, Check Recirclating Vents in refrigerator... to make sure theres no blockage, CONTROLS ...should be in the middle setting, YOU CAN TRY turning FREEZER CONTROL To A WARMER FREEZER SETTING Allowing.. MORE AIR.. to refrigertor side.

My Danby refrigerator shows a lot of temp variance. A thermometer on the top shelf shows 40 degrees, lower shows 32, is this normal?

if the door has been opened or used for a number of times ,that variation will be around normal
the system works like this
the fridge cools air from the bottom up as cold air falls to the bottom of the fridge
if the door is not being opened ( over night) the whole compartment becomes to the same temperature as set by the thermostat and that is when the fridge cuts of
Now if the door seals are leaking cold air out at the bottom then the whole compartment will never get to the same temperature ( your variation)
similarly if the door is constantly being opened , the cold air at the top of the compartment replaces the cold air at the bottom that has flowed out onto the floor on opening the door (again your variation)
so you have to possible items to check
1 are the door seals in top condition and 2 is the door being opened too much in short periods of time

How to change the temp in a frigidaire galaxy refrigerator

Units will vary give or take a few degrees from the control panel display. Keep in mind once you change the temperature it will take up to 10-12 hours to stabilize and reach that temperature. If the unit is not cool, even at the bottom of the refrigeration portion (where the coolest air will be found) then contact a professional to diagnose the control pane and board.

GE Profile Refridgerator side warm, freezer ok?

Fridge gets cold air from freezer to cool it. Your freezer is fine but not enough cold air is getting into fridge compartment. U have some dampers or louvers that direct air flow to fridge and if they are not set properly cooling will not be adequate. Check those out.

Freezer is cold but not keeping icecream frozen.

If, the fresh food section is 34- 38 degrees, then the freezer should be cold enough to keep ice cream solid. All of the cooling capability comes from the freezer section. I, personally, would not waste time or money on a ten year old box. Ten years ago it cost $1000, so, the outlay is $100 per year. Dump the old refrigerator and get a new one.

Hotpoint 14.2 cu ft top freezer refrigerator -- at least once a day, according to repair company, the "heater" comes on in the freezer to defrost unit. At that point the temperature in the freezer slowly...

well for one thing i have never of a home frige unit have a heater unit on it all stores have a heater unit around the doors so the door opens easily current fridges work on a simple fan cycle the movement of the air from the freezer goes down the fridge to keep things cold and the food in the frezer frozen all this is controlled buy venting of the air from the freezer you open and close the vent to direct the cold air flow from on top to the bottem for coldness and that s all it does. i would call the better business bearu and check there standing s or a second opinion and you gathere the information good luck

Fridge not cold enough, but running it seems

Sounds like coolant is low in the system. Most fridges use a sealed system with refridgerant.
You may be able to have a sears guy or some other applicance house call repairman come and recharge it.

Also.. check that there is enough clearance around the fridge and that dust isn't clogging up the heat transfer pipes (that grid on the back.. or below the fridge) These guys need a lot of airflow to remove heat.

Whirlpool Beverage Center (WBC127BLS) - Won't cool enough

If you're handy with a soldering iron, it's possible to 'trick' the fridge into cooling down a few more degrees.

Long version:
If you open the door to the fridge, on the right wall near the bottom is a small plastic grate. You should be able to pull this straight out from the side wall. There is a temperature sensor attached to the back of the grate. Unplug the sensor. (The fridge will then give you a very annoying error beep and display "EE" on the readout. Pushing the °F-°C button stopped the beeping.) This sensor will change resistance with temperature. (The lower the temperature, the higher the resistance) I was reading a resistance of about 3700 ohms at 43°F and 2460 ohms at 68°F. Throw in a rough assumption that the response is linear and it works out to almost 50ohms/degree. In order to 'trick' the fridge into cooling down more, you need to drop the resistance. I was aiming for about 6 degrees cooler. Assuming the resistance response was linear, 6 degrees cooler would give me about 4000 ohms from the sensor. By jumpering a 50000 ohm resistor (yes, 50K ohm) in parallel with the sensor, I should get about 6 degrees cooler. I did the soldering, plugged the sensor back in, and ended up about 8 degrees cooler. Two days so far, everything appears good and the beer is cold.

Short version:
Put a 50K ohm resistor in parallel with the temperature sensor behind the grate on the inside right hand wall.

The temperature read out will be inaccurate forever after though. But then, I just want cold beer, my wife wants cold water, and the kids want to play with the cool blue light. I don't care what the number on the readout is.
