How do I use a Seiko electronic tuner?

Hi! Have you read the manual? That is a good place to begin. Maybe you did not get one (if you bought your tuner used, or found it, or stole it, or something). You did not mention your model number, but one of the really common ones is the SAT500. Here's a download site for its manual:

Just stay cool. Concentrate on one thing at a time. And take your time. You will soon become a competent user. I think you will find it pretty easy, once you get a good start. Truly.

When using the DM-4800 I hear a loud hissing/buzzing/digital sound. I suspect it to be a clocking problem. Everything is functioning normally until i push up any of the faders. when i do this, it results...

Just make sure that your input levels are adequate. Some digital noise will occur if signal levels are so low that they are using only a few bits of the dynamic range of the digital numbers of the unit. The idea is to have the gains balanced througout so that all signals are in the normal operating range. Make sure any UNUSED or undriven channels are MUTED. Open circuit inputs MAY have significant noise... this is a statistical thing that has a minimum level dictated by the laws of physics.

I have 2 Seiko Quartz metronomes that have exactly the same problem... the black cord is off of the battery "hat". One is model SQ44 and the other is SQ50. I have NO idea where to take this to...

Any electronic savy tech should be able to either solder the wire back on OR replace the connector for you. The battery connectors are available even from Radio Shack.
