Question about Philips 25PS40S 25" TV

1 Answer

Philips 29PT9418/69G After watching for 10mins, sometimes longer than that, it will go off by itself. Few weeks ago it would just go off, but now it will go off with a "pop" sound. The power-on-LED light keeps blinking red. (LED Standby-mode is red and switch-on mode is green). Then we have to off the switch and wait for a while to switch it on. Then the LED will show a standby-mode RED in colour. Then with the remote control to turn on any channel. Fine after that but will switch off by itself again after 5mins or so... Just wondering can it be repaired or do I need to buy a new TV now.

I have the same problem. And when I shut down to stand-by(red led illuminate) with remote control there was a small coil beside a relay produced a spark. The location is in the power supply area near main power switch. Is that coil the problem? Is it by replace it resolve the problem? Thanks.

A qualified tech will need to practice visual acuity technique! Look at power supply circuit for signs of stress,dis-coloration and/or bad connects.Check for bad 47mf/25v cap in area of stress.Replace BC-327-25 xistor w/BC-328 and replace BC-337-25 w/BC-338,if present in your set's chassis style.

Suunto watch keeps resetting itself. Changed battery a few weeks ago and now in the last week, it will reset itself. After you set it to the right time it could be fine for hours or minutes before it...

You wouldnt think a whole lot could go wrong with a Suunto battery change. If they had trouble getting the coin access back off and unscrewed the case then the button contacts might be out of line causing your problem. You might also check to be sure that they put the right battery in and that there are no pry marks as sometimes there are problems getting the battery out. If any excessive pressure was placed on the circuit board and it cracked it will need to be replaced.

sounds lick you may have a dry joint in the powers or line o/p stage.

if you bought it under one year ago then the retailer should be obliged to either replace it or repair it. I would look into this further, ask to speak to the manager or something casue when a tv switches itself off it indicates an error inside and turns itself off to prevent further damage.

Problem with tv turning off by itself.

I had a friend with the same problem. He had to clean the components and fans in the set. The accumulated dust had caused the set to run hot and a safety switch was the tv off. He purchased a few cans of compressed air and, as he blew the components and fans out, used a vacuum to capture the blown dust. Good luck.

The problem is in your cable connection on the back of your monitor or Box. I had the same problem and solved it by reattaching the VGA cable that was loose.
