one thing you can do is to disconnect the CMOS battery for about a minute or so to let the charge drain away, then re-connect it ( you could always renew it at the same time as they don't last forever ) This will reset the BIOS to default settings and a password will no longer be required. find your rtc and remove battery(looks like a large digital watch battery)leave it out for a couple of minutes then replace it , bios will then then be then be reset to factory.you can then enter a password(new) or leave it blank(no password)the battery is housed some where on the motherboard,sometimes on top sometimes underneath.on a evo I looked at the other day the battery was next to the ram slots so very easy to get to.without checking service manual cant tell you exactly where yours might be located.

open the bottom ull see a nickel shape battry on the motherboard remove teh bat and plug it back again the pwd will no longer be there

ok tinha um acer travelmate 2300 e realmente me cobraram a mior grana para resetar a bios mas segui o que vcs me endicaram e consegui foi só retirar a bateria interna ela é isolada e ligaga proximo a betria externa no note tem um fio vermelho e branco vale!!!
