Question about HP Pavilion dv2000t 14.1" Notebook Laptop PC (Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz, 1GB RAM, 100GB HDD, D... PC Notebook
When I push the power button on, the screen remains blank, and the laptop makes one long beep, and two short beeps. The type of computer is an HP Pavilion Dv6000z. I'm 99.9% sure it isn't the RAM, b/c i've removed, replaced, rubbed with an eraser ect.. Any ideas on whats wrong would be great help.
Note: when I removed the Ram, it gave me a different beep error, 4 instead of one long 2 short. just fyi
The 1 long 2 short beep code means a problem in the video circuitry and the laptop can't initialize the display. This is usually caused by failure of the integrated video chipset. Unfortunately, on a laptop you can't just open the case and install a new video card like you can on a desktop. You need to replace the mainboard. Replacements are available online. Here is one source found by a Google search. (I'm just using this as an example. I haven't dealt with this site.)
The 4 beep code means no memory detected when the computer started up. No surprise there since you had taken it out.

I can understand. If you are so sure that its not RAM problem then it can be only Motherboard problem. And most probably its problem in your SMPS and thats why not getting power & giving these beeps. I hope you knows the notation of such beeps... rate this solution if it was really helpful to you
