On-off switch is stuck on

I have an hoover windtunnel vac model #
U6439-900. The switch is stuck and I need to replace it. It does not seem to just pop out. I might have to take the handle apart, but I do not know how to do that. Does anybody know if I can remove the switch from the handle, or I need to take the handle apart and now to take it apart?

To remove the switch, you need to remove the two screws in the back of the handle. Slide the handle back out. Open the lid in front upright remove the attatchment with the brushes. Inside there you will find a screw you need to remove it. Then remove the cover for the bag, at he top of this compartment you will see two holes. reacvh in with a phillips screw driver and remove those two screws. Pull out the front part, this reveals the switch. Remove the reddish orange wire on top and the orange wire on the bottom. Then push down the latches on the top and the bottom of the switch and push it out the back. Now you have the switch in your hand.

Hoover windtunnel self-propelled - will not turn on

You probably need the switch replaced. It's fairly simple to do youself, and it is a known problem with these vacuums.
You can order the switch from hoover for about $10

Hi I have model u64330-900 hoover windtunnel. It

Hello,
It sounds like your vacuums belt is stretched and worn. You'll need to replace it. Below is a link to a website that gives instructions with pictures on how to change the belt. You should be able to get a replacement belt at any department store or vacuum retailer.
I hope this helps you.

Hoover windtunnel vaccum U6445-900 motor not turning on. I removed the screws and located the contacts inside. There is an on-off switch which seems to be stuck Is there a way to replace this switch

There are a number of Hoover vacuums that are subject to a recall due to an overheating on/off switch. Check out this web site to see if your is included. You'll need the model number and serial number from the back of the unit. The manufacturer will direct you to an authorized repair center for a free replacement of the defective switch.

Belt replacement

No belt- it is motor driven. what happens to these if the rollers get stuck(by- say, a Lego® or something)  is the roller itself has an insert which will break, requiring roller replacement.
simple fix, but costs a little more than a belt. remove two screws holding the roller cover, accessible by flipping the vac over. then figure out which roller is broken, and remove the 2 outer screws on that side. pull the outer bearing cup assembly straight out to remove the rollers.
I have found the rollers as cheap as $3.50 ea/ for generic replacements. Also I reckon any Vac shop would have them on hand.

Height adjustment on Hoover Windtunnel u5755-900 no longer works

On this model it is only a single slide adjustment lever. have you trie to tilt the vac backwards (lifting the wieght off the front wheels) and then slide the adjustment lever?

If there is a mechanical issue with it. take the bottom plate and roller out, and then the 2 small screws which hold the cover on underneath. you should be able to see the problem from there

Power switch will not work

Hoover U6437-900 U6439-900 Windtunnel Upright
seems there is a short in the power switch, is that possible, I have it disassembled and seems there is power going into the on/off button, but will only sporadically turn on

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
This could be a defective switch or it could be a loose connection or wire – chances are that it is a defective switch and needs replacement – this could be a slider switch of which does wear out and that is why it will comes on sporadically – if there is a local vacuum cleaner shop in your area they can test the switch and possibly sell you a new one
