I have an hoover windtunnel vac model #
U6439-900. The switch is stuck and I need to replace it. It does not seem to just pop out. I might have to take the handle apart, but I do not know how to do that. Does anybody know if I can remove the switch from the handle, or I need to take the handle apart and now to take it apart?
On the back of the handle down below the grip you will see 4 screws take them out.then slide the handle out towards the back.on the sides of the handle you will see small notches those are the snaps the hold it together.the handle will come apart.feel free to call me if you need help i don't charge just like to help people save money.if there is a cord cradle there you may have to take that off also, held onby 2 screws.314-628-9153

To remove the switch, you need to remove the two screws in the back of the handle. Slide the handle back out. Open the lid in front upright remove the attatchment with the brushes. Inside there you will find a screw you need to remove it. Then remove the cover for the bag, at he top of this compartment you will see two holes. reacvh in with a phillips screw driver and remove those two screws. Pull out the front part, this reveals the switch. Remove the reddish orange wire on top and the orange wire on the bottom. Then push down the latches on the top and the bottom of the switch and push it out the back. Now you have the switch in your hand.
