This works with the two other colors, blue and green also. Not all models of Sony Projection TVs have the red, green, and blue pots in the same order as the picture that is listed on this link, so you may want to google search for your model's service manual. The service manual can also help you be able to remove the cover for your particular model of TV. I was able to find the service manual for my model, and sure enough, the order of the pots are reversed on mine, so I would have been adjusting the wrong color. Read all of the comments on this link too, because you can find other helpful tips and may even find someone with the same model of TV as you that gives more specific instructions for your model.

P.S. you can also clean the mirrors and dry dust while you have it open.

Unless you can solder and use a meter then yes you need to call a tech, this repair should run somewhere from $300-$500. Let me know if you need more info

your tv needs to be looked at by a professional tech..it may need reconverged..

You may have a bad convergence... short will shutdown your HV circuitry leaving just audio?

you can get it your tv fix the problem is in the IF amp and video circuit.a convergence will also be neeeded.the tv is old but can give you some more life call a tech they will be your tv doc.

the unit needs the convergence ic's replaced and probably a couple of safety resistors.average repaire are about 300 from a tv shop
