Texting driving me nuts - can't select imported contacts properly
Selecting the Message igon from the front screen to send a text : Simple enough right ?
So I fill in a message, click Recipent, try to choose a name : Only about half of the 150 or so contacts are listed. I can see them all if I select the top left-hand menu icon, Sort ab A->Z then Z->A it shows the lot.
So I choose a name from the list, which is entered in the To (1) box. Then a To(2) box appears. When that's present, the Send button never works.
Can text with slightly more success by going to the Call Contacts list, then choosing Message, but even then it's 50/50 whether a second To(2) box appears, which seems to prevent a message being sent.
If I fill in the To(2) box, a To(3) appears and Im in this crazy loop of trying to add recipients to send the message (it can't be done!)
None of the To boxes can be deleted.
Finally, it seems you can only send a text to an imported contact where the contact phone type is marked as Mobile. Even though many of the numbers imported were mobiles, unless they are *marked* as mobile, it just won't use it.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Hi ..... Its not your phone. I had to contact my IP (AOL) and then contact my cellular provider. (cingular). They walked me though what to do (Mostly your cellular prvovider will take care off all your texting problems.) You shold have a icon next to your signal strenght which indicates you are connected to your provider for texting). I still had to contact my IP so I could chat on AOL. The same thing goes for your home computer provider.
YOUR CELLULAR PROVIDER CAN SET YOUR PHONE FOR TEXTING AND TAESTING. YOU HAVE TO BE ON THE CELL PHONE AND YOU MAY HAVE TO POWER OFF AND B ACK ON.
Hi, to be able to send picture messages from your phone your MMS (Multimedia Message) must be activated first. Depending on your Service provider example. for MTC users just send a text message saying 'MMS' to 1251 and you will receive your setting automatically just save the settings and when they request a password enter '1234' or '0'. For other Service providers please contact your call centre and ask for your MMS to be activated and follow the simple instructions given by your service provider.
