Kitchen Aid makes the worst appliances on the market. Never buy them, they should stick to mixers. My dishwasher doesn't drain, the glass on my convention microwave/oven shattered in the middle of the night, the freezer doesn't freeze. Service calls too many times to count the first year and absolutely no customer service after the first year was up.

My dishwasher did this for awhile. i found a small object lodged in the drain under the moving sprayer. i put a small amount of powdered clorox2 and ran a cycle. afterwards i ran a jetdry cycle. i havent had a problem since.

i would check for apossible drain issue, perhaps siphoning water out after 2nd fill. make sure you have prper high loop insatlled in drain hose, could also be a bad water fill valve, solenoid overheating and not opening properly after 3 fills

SOURCE: I have a Kitchen Aid

when "full" of water, the normal height of level is about 1/2 below the heater assy(large blackish grey coil below he spray arm).. if theres enough water in the unit nad its still not "spraying",its quite possible that your filter/chopper assy is clogged and cant let water through. try removing hte spray arm and under that you will see 5 torx15 screrw holding down top filter plate under there to the left youll see another t15 screw covering hte chopper assy area. claen out sump of debris this may be your issue

SOURCE: KitchenAid dishwasher allows water to drain while washing

Your dishwasher is siphoning the water out. The drain hose should turn upward, nearly to the bottom side of the counter top, before it attaches to the drain or disposal. If it has an independant drain it still needs the rise and also needs an air break to stop the siphoning.

SOURCE: 5 y/o kitchen aid dishwasher was wroking great now

Unless someone turned the supply off under the sink, the water fill solenoid is likely defective. It should be located near the area where the fill hose connects to the machine. Make sure to shut the power off by unplugging or turning the appropriate breaker off. Hope this helps.

Broken Timer? My OLD Kitchen Aid Quiet Scrub Dishwasher no longer advances through cycles automatically--I have to turn the knob manually for every step. It works fine other than that.

Hi Spring

All depends where you are and wether you can get Parts.
Is the timer accessible?
Timer is driven by a small clock motor.
Could it be fixed or lubricated.
Give it a service and save money!
Good luck

Upper drawer dishwasher won't drain

First =check for a plugged drain line
Second = check for plugged screens in the unit.

It could also be your pump. The vanes are only plastic and they sometimes just give out.

My Kitchen Aid dishwasher runs for about 2 hours. Is this normal

It depends on your water pressure. Mine runs a cycle in about 25 minutes, with 92 psi water pressure. Before changing all the pipes in my house, I had about 30 psi and it took about 45 minutes. The longer it takes to fill, the longer it takes to do a wash.

Food particles are on dishes after washing

Try adding bicarb of soda/baking soda and vinegar in the detergent dispenser. Bicarb fizzes off hardened particles and vinegar strips off grease and aids rinsing.
