My delonghi air con unit has power, the green light is on showing there is power to the unit, the set temp buttons and timer buttons work but the on and off, mode, fan speed and swing buttons don't?

Seriously...

I suspect you are right... it OUGHT to work without the remote... BUT no model number came through with your question...

NEVER-THE-LESS... the cheapest... shortest path to being cool is the price of a remote...

I'd buy a SPARE (too = two)...!!

Later, at your leisure, you can RISK having a "professional"
look it over!

I'm just saying... Have we tried looking at the OWNERS MANUAL..?

Figure out what refrigerant you are using... Where to get a FREE manual (on-line)... Service & maintenance tools & REQUIREMENTS... (etc.)

Be cool!

Fault E3 Have same problem, fan works fine but will not turn on cold air. Display shows "e3". I have a remote, but do not see a button "c".

Try this : Start the unit using the remote control, after that push the C button of remote control if C display at the unit then off the unit and plug out the power supply. Then plug in again and "on" the unit using the remote control.

I have a Whirlpool Model ACQ158XPO wall/window air conditioner. Motor comes on but it does not cool. Any suggestions?

Its really tough to troubleshoot window units without pulling the cover off. If I was standing there looking at it without tools in my hand I would first make sure the fan/cool switch was in the fan high cool mode and that the thermostat was turned all the way to the coolest setting. Beyond that it needs to go in for repair. Wish I could be more help. Good luck.

Outside unit fan not turning no cold air inside.

Ok here we go. It is possible that the capacitor for that fan unit is out or the motor for that unit is out. Without the proper tools i.e. an electrical meter, there isn't really a way to test the unit. The remote should not have anything to do with the unit activating if the is a manual thermostat. I suggest checking to see if either the motor has gone bad or the capacitor has bit the dust. If you have the motor changed make sure to replace the capacitor

Good Luck on your repairs hope I helped you some\

Air conditioning unit is not responding to the remote

If you can't change the settings manually, then the control pad is bad. If you can and the remote won't change the temp or mode then the remote is bad and will need to be replaced.

There may be a master reset switch or combination of buttons to press. The Manufacturer may be able to walk you through this process. Otherwise I would simply exchange it. It sounds like it has a manufacturing problem.

Failure during operation

No. The fan setting simply runs the fan full time bypassing the thermostat. In cooling mode the unit is slave to the thermostatic sensor located in the return air stream. If the unit is in a very small room or the exiting cool air is obstructed by furniture or curtains then the cool air is directed directly back to the sensor before mixing with the room air, causing erratic operation. Be sure several square feet of floor space is open in front of the unit and point the vent upwards and see if that makes a difference. Hope this was somewhat helpful, GL.
