Question about Logitech Trackman Wheel 904353-0403 Trackball

1 Answer

Disassembled to clean and springs popped off

I took my Trackman Wheel apart to clean as it had a severe case of dust and two springs popped off the inner workings of the mouse. I know one came from the scroll wheel but I don't know where the other came from. The mouse works but the scroll button doesn't ratchet anymore which makes it a little twitchy. Is there anywhere I can get a picture or schematic of the inside of the Trackman Wheel so I can figure out where the springs go?

It might be considered a spring and a formed wire rather than two springs.

The Logitech website does not have interior specs.

Logitech trackman wheel stopped working. I have changed the batteries and reset, but the problem persists. Can you help?Thank you, Claudia

First step would be to clean the sensor inside the ball housing. Remove the ball (turn retaining ring on bottom or simply pull out) and clean the sensor area free of debris or dust using cotton swabs or klenex. Next step would be to ensure that you have have no wireless devices such as a cordless phone or wireless routers in close proximity that may interfere with the signal. Finally, test on another computer to see if you gain functionality else it may be time to find a new mouse.

I need the schematics for the cordless trackman wheel mouse. I took it apart to clean it and the springs feel out before I could see where they went. The mouse is working without them, but I would really...

try and contact logitech, but they aregoing to charge you and it may cost more than a new mouse, because they dont really want anyone to have that documation about there new product.
go on line and type the following information:

logitech optical cordless trackman wheel mouse layout and or schematics

Trackman wheel....ball fell loose, now actin weird

Dust has a tendancy to collect under the ball at the 3 contact tips (you should look under the ball)and it is possible enough dust collected when the ball was removed, that the dust particles became a large dust ball and lodged under the ball making it impossible to move!
Remove the ball and clean the area and replace the ball and it should work fine.

Trackman cordless spring associated with the scroll wheel

OK this is a little hard to describe, but I think my son and I figured it out. The spring has sort of a loop at one end and a square tail at the other end. The loop end fits inside the wheel then the spring follows the channel in the plastic. Finally, the square tail goes underneath into a hole in the plastic piece. I wish I had a photo but my camera broke!!

Put back togather

Well I did it. It's not exactly easy to describe. I accidently took mine apart trying to clean the roller ball and out popped the 2 springs. I sort of put it back together in "reverse". In other words, I put it together without the scroll device and then looked through the hole. By doing this, I figured it out -- when you know it's simple but to describe it without pictures is almost impossible. Mine works fine now but I don't know how to help you.
