SOURCE: our casablanca ceiling fan has

If you have the intelitouch system, It's probably the circuit board in the fan. Casablanca has great motors but touchy boards. I ordered mine from www.fanmanlighting.com and installed it myself, it wasn't too difficult. Hope this helps

SOURCE: Have power to fan connections, but fan and light

It could be either, but here's something easy to check first. Look inside the remote. You should see a small rectangle with several (usually 4-6) extremely tiny switches on it (called DIP switches) The receiver inside the fan shroud has one as well. The switches must be in the same pattern to work. It doesn't really matter what the pattern is, as long as it is the same. (that is for setting the frequency to prevent interference if there are several near each other)

Remote required to turn on light but fan turns on with light switch

Before you conclude the fan was wired incorrectly, try this:

1. Shut off power to the fan (at the circuit breaker)

2. Remove batteries from the remote and press all the buttons to eliminate the possibility of a stuck button. Reinstall batteries

3. Turn on power to the fan and try operation

Fan works fine, lights don't. Could it be the remote?

Had this happen to me and it was a hunter fan. Similar problem. Fan worked, lights went out. Took light bulbs out, lowered the light fixture. Tested power coming from the ceiling to the quick connect pins for lights. The power was good. So the Problem's in the light kit. Turns out the government requires all new fans to have certain wattage to lights, set at 190. So 3 60w bulbs or 4 40w. Inside the light kit is a limitor hooked to the black power wire coming from the quick connect,It is smaller wire and mine was pink into limitor and white coming out. Not very big. This went bad so i called Hunter, sending new light kit, but I just wired straight black to black wire bypassed that limitor and lights work fine

I have the Hunter remote control fan model UC7848. The remote has stopped working, although the light does come on when the battery was replaced. There doesn't seem to be another way to turn the fan on. ...

have you sanded the terminals off on the battery contacts in the battery compartment in the remote, even new batteries at 3 volts between the 2 batteries cannot pass alll the signals if the tabs of the battery are corroded,i know ,you will say, they look shiny, but any glossy corrosion will inhibit battery voltage, use a nail file board lightly

Remote control wall unit does not turn on Monte Carlo fan or light although red light comes on when buttons are pushed (fan and light worked for about 2 years although it was hardly ever used).Frank

Are the manual switches on the fan in the 'on' position?

Select the maximum fan speed on the remote and then operate the manual switch on the fan. Set that to the highest speed then control it with the remote.

Same theory applies to the light.

If this is not the problem then the remote receiver on the fan is probably faulty.

Wall switch and remote quit working for fan and light

Simple things to check - sometimes the vibration from the fan will cause the wires to come loose. Drop the fan and make sure both wire nuts are secure - take the opportunity to check and make sure you have voltage (using a voltmeter or a 110v test light) at the junction box. Do you have lights on the fan? Do they come on? If you have power to the fan, something is amiss inside the fan such as a faulty speed switch or connection.

Hampton bay fan with remot problem

You can try the universal receiver. The white, black, and green wires are the house wires. The receiver must match to these on one side. The wires on the other side go to the fan/lights. It is possible that one of these has come loose. If you try the universal, make sure the dip switches are in the same positions on both.

Or,

Take the fan down, and remove the receiver completely, from house wires and fan. (Make sure the breaker is off first!) Then wire the fan directly to the house wires. The blue wire on the fan is for lights. Wire it with the black wire in the same wire nut.

I'm assuming you have a wall switch that powers the wires coming from the ceiling.

By the way, I have never seen anyone control two fans with lights with one receiver. Usually each fan has its on.
