Hello, im having problems with the touchpad of Dell Latitude D410. I cant tap it to click, and the buttons not working, luckily i have a glide point. I hope it wont stop working.b

You can tried to up date the driver. If you go to dell.com you can find the driver and download. If not you need to replace the touchpad.

Thanks,

My mousepad stopped working

First try reinstalling the driver for the Touchpad. The driver for the Touchpad can be found here: http://support.dell.com/support/download

Once this has been installed there should be icon in the lower right hand of the Taskbar that will allow you to adjust settings. If this does not correct the problem try using an external mouse to see if the problem follows. If the issue does not follow the Touchpad might need to be replaced.

If the system is out of warranty a replacement Palm Rest can be ordered directly from Dell by calling 1-800-357-3355. Instructions for replacing the Palm Rest can be viewed here: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1501/en/sm_en/palmrest.htm#wp1045812 Another thing to try before ordering a replacement Palm Rest is to try reseating the" touch pad connector" to see if it corrects the problem.

If the issue does follow the mouse that is plugged in this could be an issue with the OS. An earlier restore point or a system restore could fix the problem (please be aware that a complete system restore will remove the data on the system). If this does not fix the problem then the system board might need to be replaced.

I have a dell insipron 1545, the mouse keys below the touchpad have stopped working in normal mode but will work in safe mode. I have Windows Vista

It seems to be a conflict with Touchpad drivers. For once, you can try a System Restore to resolve this issue. Else, you need to install the Dell touchpad drivers and application from the Dell support website to resolve this. You can download the drivers from the link after you select the correct Operating system version: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRON1545&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=. Save the file on desktop and right click on it, to Run as Administrator. Install the drivers and reboot your system. Now your Touchpad should work normally even in safemode.

Dead dell touchpad x(

Have you tried System Restore? If not familiar... Start Button ---> Help ---> System Restore ---> "Restore my computer to an earlier date" --> choose an appropriate date, maybe a few days earlier than the problem.

Re-boot and see if works! If you are ceratin that the problem arose simply from hibernating, then restoring should do the trick!

Hope this helps!

Touchpad and buttons won't click on Sony Vaio

Hi,
it could be caused because of hardware failure or software failure, in case of hard ware failure it would be best to call sony tech support but in case of software issue , if you remember the day it was working fine,
do a system restore to the date it was working fine, which will reset your software configuration to the date you know it was working ok, so if it was caused by software issue it will be resolved, but any programs that you installed after the restore date will be lost

to do system restore
reboot your system when you see the sony logo start tapping the F8 key and you will come to a menu here select safe mode and boot and then
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts select the bold date your system was working fine and continue as it guides,

If you think the information i gave you was helpfull please do rate me
Regards
Ltoso
