SOURCE: PTO CONTROLS. How do you engage and disengage PTO.

The tractor is not a 6300 is it.If it' not you need to adjust the cable for the p.t.o. until it will stay down.Don't turn the turnbuckle too much at a time because there is a fine line between the won't engage and the won,t disengage adjustment.

PTO lever engages in the wrong position in a Kubota ZD323.

Check and make sure that any links are not bent and make sure that the switch that engages the PTO is not out of adjustment.

Shut down problem

im betting the center pto is still engaged still , this is a safety system (no start with pto engaged) I come across once in a while , not many folks use the center pto so it gets forgotten till somehow the engage lever gets set there , or sometimes it sticks in too
that's the simple thing I can think of , it only gets more deep from there

My Allis Chalmers 6080 PTO will not shut off with the lever. Even though I pull the lever to stop PTO, it stays engaged. Any answer to this issue?

The lever is maybe not engageing the electrical switch so if it worked good in the past something has worn or come loose.Find the point where the lever engages the switch and there are usually 2 wires running to the pto. Also one or more wires might be off the pto.Go from one thing the lever does to the next step and it might be a bad switch if the lever is working the switch and it still does not turn off.Hope this helps

PtO will not engage on cub cadet 1000

It would be helpful if I knew whether it was working and quit or has never worked. At any rate it has of course a live PTO on it (not dependent on the clutch to engage-disengage it). Check your linkage, make sure nothing has come loose and not moving the travel rod. Secondly some models have a hydraulic fluid compartment that is used for the PTO alone, check to see if this is the case and if so check fluid levels. Back to linkage, the engage mechanism is usually a lever of some type that moves a valve body and lets hydraulic flow under extreme and engage s set of input and output clutches together. If your engage mechanism is a magnetic clutch, check for bad wiring and burnt fuses. If it is a fuse replace with the same value as already in the harness. If the new fuse flows don't do like me and put a larger fuse in it, though that will show what wires are involved with the clutch engagement it also shows the wires to be replaced. Check wiring for ***** wires or wires worn and touching metal parts and grounding out.Back to Hydraulics again, unless you've loaded the PTO hard enough to burn the clutches out (which I doubt very much) it can only be that fluid is not getting to the clutches. Chances that there is a problem inside the tractor with the valve body are slim but possible. Most PTO that just quit are caused by linkage problems or low Hydraulic fluid. Check all the above, I believe you will find your problem lies somewhere in what I have explained. I farmed for 30 years and we ran from 140 -250 HP tractors and if a PTO went out it was usually linkage or low Hydraulic Fluid. Hope this helps, don't want to miss a crop over a PTO!Col. Tractor runs but mower will not engage

First look under the tractor and check that the mower belt is installed and not obstructed or broken. Second, check the linkage from your engagement lever on the tractor to the PTO on the mower deck.

Hi, is the deck engagement lever off or the pto switched off? If it uses a lever check the switch on the lever. If it uses a pto check the pto switch. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

While mowing the deck disengages

If it has an electric PTO you may have an electrical issue. If it has a belt drive deck with a manual lever, you need to adjust the spring tension.
