Question about Acer TravelMate 5720-6635 Notebook
I recently acquired my Acer TM 5720 from my ex-husband. I have all the cds, books, and cords with the laptop. He kept it in impecible condition. However his finger swipe is the only one that works to get into the system. Needless to say I can't get him to let me in. A password request appears when the finger swipe is invalid but he says there is no password. I have tried Alt F10 which doesn't work and F2 to get into the Setup requires a password as well. I have tried every CD I have but it won't read. Can some tell me how I can get into the system or BIOS using the disks if I don't have a password?
There is always a password associated with the "finger swipe"
If he somehow managed to setup without a password you would be able to hit the enter key with the password bar blank and get in.
If you get an incorrect password error that means there is a password.
If you could get him to let you in once you could change the password. The only other way is to remove the cmos battery and reset the bios, you would need to disassemble the laptop to do that.
If I was a CSI I would be able to tell you how to lift his print off of a glass of water and make a mold of it(just kidding, I don't think that works)
Sorry I couldn't be of more help but let me know if I can help with removal of the cmos battery.
