Question about Microsoft Wireless Network Adapter Xbox 360 (SKWIFIX360)

1 Answer

X-box 360 Wireless Adapter

I swear I have done everything. I have hooked it up. It has detected my network, i put the code in even the back of the adapter is steady green, but as soon as I go in to test the connection it says that it cannot identify and IP address. I manually put in an address myself but it did not work either. the connection is working great for my laptop, it is running on the same network. I even put my USB into the computer then back in the x-box, then back to the computer, then it tells me that I have connected nothing to the network. I swear I have tried it all! Am I missing something? Please help!

If by Encrypted you mean it has an WEP code, then yes, I have put that in though then it says connected

In order to do that you would have to plug this into your xbox 360, not your computer. HOWEVER, Microsoft only supports their own wireless adapter for the xbox 360 .... this one: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Network-Adapter-Networks/dp/B000B6MLV4

I have also heard that wireless gaming can have lesser results. But if you want to do Xbox Live wireless, you will have to have a router and Microsoft's XBOX wifi adapter shown in the link above.

To connect to Xbox live, your best bet is to (if you dont have one) get a router, connect it to your Internet modem, and plug it into the xbox 360 using an ethernet cable.

My Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter stopped working.

Shut off your console and unplug everything.

Connect the adapter then connect the console back together...Turn on console......Go to network configuration...Make sure u are connecting the adapter from the back!

If you are not able to achieve a connection for several attempts this means your should check warranty status for the adapter also.........If you unplugged it while the console was one you could of shocked the cable an blew the fuse.......Normally when u detach any components with a usb port u should alway make sure every thing is shut off before so.

What are the steps to hooking up your xbox 360 wireless network adapter

Hello

Plug the wireless USB adapter into the USB port on the back of the Xbox 360 console.

Turn on your Xbox 360 console.

The console will recognize the wireless adapter and will walk you thru the wireless network setup. Be sure to have your WEP key (if encryption is used) for your router before you start this process.

This adapter works well - I am using one and regularly play Modern Warfare 2 with multiple chat sessions. There is no noticable difference between my wired network connection and this wireless network connection.

Happy gaming!

Wireless 360 Network Adapter won't turn red

This can actually happen quit a bit but it sounds to me like the usb jack may be dieing or not producing enough power. This can be caused if for instance you use wired controllers. Have you tried using the front usb ports.

My light stays red never turns green

This means that it hasnt connected to a wireless router. Make sure your router is wireless, that you have searched for you network and found it. If this still doesnt work then make sure that your routers wireless capabilities are working and try entering the settings in manually to the xbox 360 network settings.
