You expression is equivalent to
(x+13/2)^2-[(13/2)^2-15]=(x+13/2)^2-[SQRT(109)/2]^2
Use the identity for the difference of two squares a^2-b^2=(a-b)(a+b)
This gives
x^2+13x+15=(x+13/2)^2-[SQRT(109)/2]^2=
[x+13/2 -SQRT(109)/2][x+13/2+SQRT(109)/2]
The polynomial can be written as (x-a)(x-b) (Note a has nothing to do with the one used above to complete the square. You can use any name for the roots, x_1, x_2, anything.

### How do i solve the equation x2-13x+36=0

Use the quadratic formula or completing the square.
Completing the square:
x^2 -13x=-36
x^2-2*(13/2) +(13/2)^2=-36+(13/2)^2
The left side can be factored as (x-13/2)^2.
The right side is (13^2-36*4)/4=(169-144)/4=25/4
Assembling the two sides
(x-13/2)^2=25/4
Taking the square roots x-13/2=+ or - 5/2
Case 1 : x-13/2=+ 5/2.
Solving for x you get the first root as x=(5+13)/2=18/2=9

Case 2 : x-13/2=-5/2.
Solving for x, you get the other root as x=(13-5)/2=8/2=4.
The roots are x1=9, and x2=4

say for example, the geometric mean of 2 × 3 × 6 × 8 is the 4th root of 288, or approximately 4.12.

enter nth root first, in this case 4 then shift then root symbol then open bracket, 2x3x6x8, close bracket then = ,
should give you 4.1195 etc
