How do you remove the headlight bulb

  • Take the keys out of the ignition and switch the headlights off. Then, open the hood using the primary and auxiliary release latches.
  • 2 Use a socket wrench to remove the two 10mm bolts holding the coolant overflow bottle in place. Pull the bottle out of the engine compartment and set it on the ground (passenger's side bulb replacement only.)
  • 3 Undo the bolt at the top of the air filter box, lift the top open and remove the filter from the engine compartment. Then, undo the fasteners holding the air dam in place and remove it from the filter box (driver's side bulb replacement only.)
  • 4 Pull the entire air box out of the car to access the backside of the headlight assembly.
  • 5 Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly. Then, release the retaining spring, undo the electrical connector and carefully remove the old bulb from the socket.
  • 6 Hold the new bulb by its plastic base and insert it into the socket. Reattach the electrical connector and replace the retaining spring.
  • 7 Switch the headlights on to test the new bulb. If it works, reinstall the air box or coolant bottle and close the hood

How to replace toyota matrix front headlight bulb

Replacing a headlight on a Toyota Matrix is a simple process that only requires the use of a screwdriver and a replacement bulb. The Matrix uses 9006 bulbs for the low beams and 9005 bulbs for the high beams. Headlight bulbs can be purchased at auto parts stores.
    Replacing Low Beam Bulb
    1. Turn off the engine of the Matrix and open the hood
    2. Rotate the bulb base in the headlamp assembly counterclockwise to remove the low beam bulb. Unplug the electrical connector. If the connector is too tight, wiggle it slightly to help remove it.
    3. Install a new bulb into the connector and place it into the assembly. Rotate it clockwise to lock it into place. Close the hood.
    Replacing High Beam Bulb
    1. Turn off the engine of the Matrix and open the hood. If replacing the left-hand headlight, remove the air cleaner duct by removing the securing clip with a screwdriver and pulling the duct out of the vehicle.
    2. Turn the bulb base counterclockwise to remove it. Unplug the electrical connector.
    3. Install a new bulb into the connector and place the bulb into the assembly. Rotate it clockwise to lock it into place. Reattach the air cleaner duct if replacing the left-hand headlight. Close the hood
    I hope this helps.

    Best regards.

    Replaceable Bulb 1985–89 200 SERIES AND 1987–89 700 SERIES
    1. Make sure the headlights are off and the ignition is OFF.
    2. Working from under the hood, release the clip and remove the wire connector from the back of the lamp assembly.
    3. Unscrew and remove the large locking ring on the back of the headlamp.
    4. Remove the bulb and its holder; replace them as a unit WARNING
When installing new bulbs, never touch the glass bulb with your fingers. The grease will develop a hot spot on the bulb and radically shorten its life.
    5. When reinstalling, make sure that the bulb sits properly in the reflector assembly. Tighten the locking ring and reattach the wiring connector.

Looking for help in replacing low light bulb in headlight for 2002 volkswagen beetle turbo.

It is a pain in the ****. There is a handle under the hood, behind the headlight that slides to release the whole headlight lens. It sounds easy but the slide is usually got all kinds of dirt and rocks in it and won't slide.

How do I change a headlight lamp in a 2003 VW New Beetle Turbo?

The headlight is actually a bulb inserted into a light module. You can remove the plastic light module by releasing the tension spring on the rear of the headliht housing inside your hood. Once the tension spring is released pull the plastic light module from the fender socket by gently pulling on the edges of the headlight. The module should pull out with some minor difficulty. Remove the bad bulb from the rear of the plastic bubble, and replace it with a new halogen bulb. Replace the module into the fender socket and reclip the tension spring(s). Not all that difficult of a job once you know how its accomplished.

95 dodge ram 3500 turbo diesel left headlamp replace

Open the hood and look between the battery and the light. You will see the wires going to the bulb. Turn the bulb holder and it will slide out. This is easier to do with the battery out. If you do remove it, be careful with the wrences and the cables, I would disconnect the grounds for both batteries first.

Don't touch the glass on new bulb.

    Chain smoker

Turbo oil seal is probably bad. This lets oil leak into the air intake from the turbo bearing. If smoke goes away during hard acceration, then this is probably your problem. Turbo replacement or rebuild is the fix for this.

Light bulb socket replacement for a really old Air Fare kitchen hood

The chances are that your range hood light socket was fully impacted with grease from cooking. Shut the power off to the range hood or, in many applications, simply unplug the power cord. Remove the socket. Get a spray can of electrical parts cleaner and saturate the socket through the tiny pin holes you may see at back of socket. shake out all of the cleaner fluid. Somehow hang the socket up with bulb base facing up all night. Hook it up. That might solve the problem.

It worked for me very recently on a 20 year old range hood.
