Re: HOw do I finaluze the disc?

I couldn't figure out how to finalize the first disc I recorded either. It wasn't offered on the menu where the manual said it should be. I finally called Panasonic and found out that the disc I used cannot be finalized. I am new with all this, and I just used the DVD-RAM that came with the DVD recorder. This may be obvious to you, but DVD-RAMs can be used over and over again but cannot be finalized. The person recommended -RW that is rewritable but can also be finalized. Maybe this will help you, too. In addition, if you have the correct disc, you should be able to go into "Functions," then "Other Functions," then "DVD Management," and see "Finalize" as an option there. Good luck!

How can i finalize after just a few minutes recording

As long as there is sufficient space on the disc to store the finalization data. Press Setup, then select Disc Edit (up/down arrows) and press OK. Then choose Finalize and again press OK. You will see a confirmation window, select Yes and press OK again. Wait for the finalization to complete.

The manual is available here: . See page 37 for the screen captures.

I hope this helps.

Please send finalize directions

To finalize a disc:
First make sure that you left enough space after recording to the disc. Press Stop or Disc-Menu (during playback). Select the first title with the Up arrow or Stop. Then press the Up arrow to get the Disc Information. Then press the right arrow to enter Settings For. Then use the up/down arrows to select Finalize disc and select OK to confirm.

This option will only be available for unfinalized discs that were recorded to by this DVD recorder. If the disc was created on another unit you may be able to finalize it with the Finalize feature in the main menu. (Tools (icon has a hammer and a wrench) > Features).

You can get the manual here: . See page 82 (page 94 in the pdf).

I hope this helps.

Can't figure out how to finalize, I record fine but can't find anything to finalize it, I have no manual, thanks for any help. Magnavox MWR20V6 Jim

Insert the dvd you want to finalize. When the menu loads press Stop and then press Setup on your remote control. Scroll down to disc edit and press the Enter or OK button. You should see the word Finalize there, select it and then it will ask to Finalize Yes or No. Select Yes and it should finalize your disc perfectly and play on any player.

I recorded a dvd and it will not play in any other player.

You must finalize the DVD after recording it. If you post the model of the JVC device, I may be able to find out how to do this for you.

You might try finalizing the disc in a PC using IMGBURN or other DVD recorder software. It couldn't hurt...

Recordes but dont play back

before you can watch a recorded DVD on another DVD player you must finalize the disc. to finalize the disc put the recorded disc into the DVD recorder, when the DVD loads it will show the titles that are recorded on the DVD on the screen
push the stop button it is the button with the square on it. the screen will go blank or it may let you watch whatever tv channel you are on if you have your tv ran through the recorder, push the setup buton a new screen will come up, with the arrow down button scroll down and highlight disc edit, press ok another screen will come up, with the arrow down button scroll down and highlight "finalize", press "ok" it is the button in the middle of the arrow keys
scroll up and highlight "yes" press "ok" the recorder will finalize the disc and it can be watched on any DVD player, just remember when you finalize a disc you cannot add anything else to the disc.

Problems finalizing discs

Check to see if you are using 16x media.  If you are you need to get a firmware upgrade from Toshiba.  Contact their support number listed inside of the manual.  They will ship you a dvd to insert into the unit.
