The flex that controls the volume on it is broken it is a strip that has wires to it.

Pioneer receiver -no volume or volume display on screen. As if the function has disappeared. Knob still turns; just NO effect

Did the volume control get an impact? Could be internal damage to the digital control. Did it act up prior to this non-function, like volume went up on a down command or jump up or down when a slight turn was made? Thnose would reinforce a damaged volume control.

How do I set the time on my kd s15

you have to hold down the sel button until you see DEMO pop up on the screen then it will show demo on. then turn the volume knob up or clockwise and it will say DEMO OFF. then click the right arrow and it will go to clock display. Turn the volume knob until it says on. then hit the right arrow and it will say abb. clock hour then turn the knob until it is the right hour. then click the right arrow and it will say abb. clock minutes and turn the knob until it is right.
Good Luck

Volume knob only increases volume

Try spraying some electrical contact cleaner into the volume potentiometer - i.e. take off the volume knob, then spray the cleaner at the base of the plastic stalk.

Can not turn the bass and treble up or down on my alpine CDA-9827

ok i cant see your entire question but to adjust bass and treble on an alpine, you see the knob (the one which u use to turn volume up and down), push it in (itll click) then a screen/textt will come up and say bass or an option once it says bass, turn the knob up or down, then press in again and it will say treble or fader or something else, once again, adjust it and keep pressing in the knob until u reach the volume again. does it work? is this what u wanted?

It has lost partially the mechanical connection between the volume control knob and the volume control pot.

The knob could be "stripped". A drop of a slightly resilient glue should do the trick. Do not use rigid adhesives, as this will prevent future service to this area of your receiver....accordianman

Volume knob

Normal Aiwa compact shelf units use what is called a jog switch for the volume. Usually you can tell the difference if when you you turn the volume up or down. It goes a short distance and seems to spring back. In this case there are two momentary contact switches. One for up one for down. With a plastic lever on the back of the knob that bumps the approriate switch whether turning down or up. If the lever is broken it will bump up against one but not the other. If it is broken plastic you know how good gluing plastic goes it never seems to hold.
