Oven overheats intermittently

My Caloric RSD398-UL gas oven overheats intermittently. For example, I will set it at 350, and then a half hour later it will suddenly be at 475! This only happens every once in awhile. Thermostat has been replaced twice in the last 18 months, gas ignitor has been replaced. Any suggestions?

How will that help? It seems like replacing the control panel would only help if the problem happened all the time, but the oven works properly about 70% of the time.???

I've just been informed by a service technician that my oven does not have a control panel. It is too old.

Hi

This could be loose connector on the control board or a leaky capacitor on control board which when overheats causes your oven to behave diffrently. If you have checked the oven control board connectors and components with a multimeter then check the Timer/Selector switch of your Oven, and its connections with the control board.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

If you already replaced the thermostat, then replace control panel.

You can get the part here, you will need to give them a call.

Also parts here.

Do not forget to leave feedback.

Thanks.

Oven temp is inconsistent. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. Yesterday we set it at 350 degrees. Two hours later it only came up to 250 degrees. I've replaced the oven sensor but...

Is this a gas oven? gas ovens rely on ignitor/glowbar ignition. The system uses amp draw to open the gas valve. If the ignitor is off a tad in amp draw then kickin or bangin on the stove sometimes makes that puppy work.

I'm a landlord and my tenant's oven will not heat up to the proper temperature intermittently. I had a guy come out and test the oven and it works fine, yet my tenant is still complaining the oven is not...

Absolutely. That is the first thing I would think that would cause such a fluctuation of temperatures. BUT if it is a gas oven (WITH A PILOT FLAME) then FIRST consider the thermocouple needing to be changed. If the thermocouple keeps faulting it will shut off gas sporadically and keep the gas off until it resets temporarily on its own.

Oven does not get to temp when it says its preheated

More than likely, its your oven thermometer thats taking a half hour to read correctly. The oven is probably getting there sooner. If you had a digital thermometer, the read would come quicker. So save your money, nothing wrong with your stove.

Caloric gas stove prestige series

to jenna 12 Does your stove have a stop and start timer? When you set your clock you may have inadvertantly moved the stop or start time on that timer. Check them, if they have knobs for setting the stop and start time, make sure the pointer is pointing to the current time and that the knob is popped out and not stuck in. when you have it right both the stop and the start knob should be out, not pushed in. They will pop out when you turn them to the current time.

These timers allow you to start something cookin at a time delayed several hours. this means they will not allow the oven to come on until it hits that time that you may have set in error.

If your stove has a digital stop and start timer check each one so that both show the current time, then your oven should light.
