My Sanyo TV won't turn on. I have unplugged it for more than 12 hours hoping that it will reset & then start, but no luck. When I press the power button on the remote, play button also lights up. To me looks like, its stuck in some other mode & thus its switching on. Any suggestion would be of great help.

Solution to the won't turn on or turns on and turns off in 3 seconds thing...as my Ds24425 did.
First thing is very important...unplug the TV and let it set for 24 hours before you proceed.
The voltages inside a TV are EXTREMELY HIGH and LETHAL....so proceed with caution!
Place the set face down on a towel on a table and remove the back cover....hex screws around the perimeter and 1 phillips screw near the inputs.
The main board will slide up and out. unplug the degausing coil "white plug with two wires" and the speakers connector. This will make it easier to turn the board and take a look.
What I found with mine was a bad electrolytic capacitor. You can identify I bad cap "capacitor" by examining the tops of each one for bulging or signs of overheating "melted or bubbled plastic covering." The cap in question was C626 with a value of 1000uf, 16volt. I replaced with a 1000uf, 35volt and it works perfectly. The cap is located about center of the board. Carefully unsolder the cap and remove, make sure to install the new cap with the proper polarity...the board is marked with a dot indicating the negative lead of the cap.
Be sure to reattach the white plug and speakers connector and slide the board back into the plastic grooves. Then replace the back cover and test. Good luck! ...Daddio
Initially, have you tried a full hard reset? If not, pls unplug from the mains. Most current devices would reset and revert back to factory default settings (assuming no internal hardware fault) when unplugged for a considerable period of time (fa couple of hours at least or preferably overnight).
Alternately, pls check if you have "Zoom" enabled.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Good luck and kind regards.
