Question about Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 / 2.16 GHz processor ( mobile ) (S6161971) PC Desktop
Here is a list of motherboards that support your processor:
You will need a socket M motherboard, something like this perhaps: http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Motherboards-FUZZY-945GME2-9642-060/dp/B004Y3Y3F2/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1381681919&sr=1-2

when it comes to new processors i would definatly suggest any intel from the core 2 series. AMD is having problems with overheating and has all but abandoned thier quest for quad core glory.

The only Thing To Do, is view both Motherboards, user Manuals.
To see The boards CPU Support List.
It could be to do with, certain Motherboards Supporting, certain CPUs.
I.e a 533mhz cpu, would not run on a Motherboard that supports 400mhz. The Systems Bios, May cause Other Problems.
If your getting a Black Screen, is it a possible Graphics/Ram Problem, Rather Than The CPU ??
