Trying to connect my WII council to the internet and it keeps coming up "Unable to connect to the internet Error code: 50230"

Error code 50230 is thrown when the Wii's internet connection has not yet been configured. These instructions on configuring the connection settings come from Nintendo's website at:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/getOnline/index.jsp

  1. Power on your Wii console and press the A Button on the Wii Remote to reach the Wii main menu. Use the Wii Remote to select the "Wii" button.

  2. Now, select "Wii Settings" to access the "Wii System Settings" menu.

  3. Using the arrow on the right side of the screen, scroll to page two and select "Internet."

  4. Select "Connection 1: None"
      wiisettingsinternet3.gif
(Don't see "None" in Connection 1? Click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings.")
  5. Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point."

(Are you using a wired Internet connection to your Wii console? If so, click here for specific help.)
  6. Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds.

  7. Select the wireless network that is yours.
(If you're not sure which is yours, or you don't see any wireless networks, click here.)

  8. Asked to enter a security key? If you are prompted to "Enter the Password or Key," then the wireless network you are trying to connect to has wireless security turned on. You will need to type in your security key or password and select "OK." secureaccess.png Don't know your router's security key? Let us help you find your router's security key. Select the brand of your router below and we'll provide you with the default information for that brand! Linksys Netgear DLink Belkin Apple 2Wire All other brands
  9. Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."

    • The Wii console will run a connection test with your wireless network when the test is completed. You should see the following screen:
        sfapun2.gif
As long as you see "The connection test was successful," the "Wii Support Code" does not matter and can be ignored

    • The connection test was successful - Then you're almost done! After your connection test, the Wii console will check if there is a new Wii System Update available. Once you select "Yes" and "I Accept," the Wii will begin to download any available updates. Click here to find out what's next!

    • The connection test was not successful - If the test was not successful, you will receive an error code.
      • Error Code 51330 or 52130: This means the security code you entered into the Wii is not the same one your router is set to. Look in your router's settings and try again. Please refer to step seven (7) above for more information.

I keep getting an error code on my wii can you please tell me what it means 51030

Not only will I tell you what it means, Kyle(can I call you Kyle? Good), but I will offer a solution to this problem AND give you something that will help you out with any future Wii errors. Brace for HELPFUL.

Error code 51030 means that you're unable to connect to your wireless network. Woah woah woah! Easy there Kyle, don't throw out your Wii just yet; wii can fix it! (I do puns too)

Check out your router. Is it on? It should be. Now turn it off. Is it plugged in? Unplug it. Now do a little dance. Finished? Great. Plug it back in.turn it back on. Fire up the Wii and give it another go.

Still no good? That's no good! Let's try messing with some settings on the Wii. I know I know, settings are scary. Everything should just be automatic these days. Well don't worry, I'm going to walk you through it.

Turn the Wii on and at the main screen (the one with the channels) point to the bottom left. With your wiimote, I mean. C'mon Kyle, that'd be awkward if you were just pointing at your screen. Anyways, click it, then navigate to Wii Settings > Internet (it's on page 2). Click on a new connection, or delete an old one and then click on it. Go through and re-set-up your connection.

Everything should be awesome now. But if you recall, I said I'd help out with FUTURE Wii error codes as well. Am I magic, you ask? Yes, but that's irrelephant (not pertaining to elephants) and irrelevant.

So now, Kyle, I bequeath upon you this link. Use it wisely.
Notice on the left side there's a little box labelled "Error Code Lookup"? I think you can figure out what goes there.

It's.... it's the error codes, just so ya know.

RECAP TIME:
-Error Code 51030: Unable to connect to your wireless network
-To fix it, unplug and replug in your router. If problems persist, set-up a new wireless connection on the Wii. (Guide for that here)
-Future Error Codes can be check out here (box labelled "Error Code Lookup" on the left side)

I feel like we've learned so much today. The moral of the story? Anything is possible through teamwork.

Hope everything works out!

Wii error code 32022

Knicked this from a forum site:
"I don't know if it's coincidence but I was having the same problem. When the error message came up it said that I should check my internet settings. So I went to wii options-->wii settings-->wii system settings 2-->internet-->agreement/contact.

I re-accepted the terms and conditions for the shopping channel and then went to try the update again. It worked. If you are still experiencing problems with the update you might want to try this."

The fault is with the update not the console so don't worry too much
