SOURCE: White screen that reads ERROR after failed recovery

i can tell you how to fix this but it would require a $80 investment on your part. There is an excellent program called Spinrite 8.0 . It comes from Gibson research company. It comes with FreeDos installed for just these kind of problems. go to your BIOS and set it to load from cd. insert the disk and reboot. Use option 5 to repair your HDD. Now this can take a few hours or a few days depending on how damaged your HDD is. But I have fixed countless pc's and laptops with the same problem. if you don't want to make the investment use a torrent site and DL it for free (although this does violate copyrite) it will save you the $80.

How do I restore my ASUS M50S Back-to, Out of the box condition?

Your system probably has a 'recovery partition', which you can load by pressing one of the function key when you boot your system. One manual for an asus m50 series says that you need to press the f9 key at bootup and follow instructions, though this may not work with your particular model. Of course, depending on what options your recovery software has, this may overwrite any important documents currently on your system. I'd consider booting off of a live linux cd like 'puppy linux', then use a usb drive to backup any important documents on the hard drive before 'restoring' the operating system.

How do I do a factory reset on my asus mk90? F9 doen't work!

Is F9 the correct key? It could be any one of the F1 thru F12 keys. You have to turn the computer off, then turn it on and immediately start hitting the F? key repeatedly to get into the Recovery.

Recovery might be in your program list. Click Start/Programs and look for any reference to Recover. It might also be in one of the ASUS folders in the program list.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ASUSSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Look for Manuals and Documents. Search the manual for Factory Reset or Recovery and follow the instructions.

How to format asus lamtop model eee pc 1005hag because this laptop has no cd rom. Thanks

This computer should have what is referred to as a "Recovery Partition". Essentially, it is a section of the hard-drive that holds all of the files that were originally on the computer. When you first turn the laptop, repeatedly tap the F9 key. It should bring you to the recovery wizard which, if you follow the dialog boxes, will allow you to set it back to factory defaults.

One off my drivers is missing would asus be able to send me the recovery disk for an asus x5dij laptop if so this will be handy or tell me how to from peter

What driver is missing? When you bootup, try hitting the F9 key repeatedly, it should boot into recovery console. Also, try F4 if that does not work. For windows XP, you will need the restore CD. For Vista and 7, you can do a repair of the OS through the recovery console. Will the computer boot? Are you sure that it is a Windows OS driver that is missing?
