Question about KOBO, INC Kobo Glo

My kobo glo froze when reading a book. I cant turn it off it wont change page or hook up to computer

This happens sometimes. The device just crashes.
If you take a look on the bottom edge, you'll see a little pinhole. Get a straightened paper clip or toothpick or something that fits in the hole, and stick it straight into the hole. You'll feel a little 'pop' as you push down the hidden button inside. The Kobo should reboot and be ready to use again.

If you're going on a long trip, I recommend bringing a little pin to reboot it - there's nothing more annoying than your book reader being unusable in the middle of a 10 hour flight!

    tried that but still not doing nothing tried pressing the power button and light button. down together as well the pixels seem to be stuck on the screen

    It's possible the screen is finished, or some other critical component inside. If that's the case you may as well start shopping for a new one - repairs will cost more than a new one. Do try the paper clip again and make sure you held it perfectly straight - it's possible to enter at an angle and miss the switch!

My kobo is frozen on starting sync won't turn on or off


Note: If your Kobo device has been physically damaged, it is no longer covered by Kobo's limited warranty. On a Kobo eReader, a physically damaged screen will look like it's been shattered, or you may see vertical or horizontal lines on the screen with a frozen image. If you haven't dropped or damaged your Kobo eReader, but are experiencing issues, try the steps below in the order suggested.
  • Turn your eReader off and then on again.
  • If your screen is frozen, slide the power button to the right and hold it for 10 seconds. Your eReader should turn off.
  • Turn your eReader off and charge it for at least four hours. Note: Your computer should be turned on while you are charging your Kobo eReader.
  • If your eReader isn't charging, try using a different Micro USB cable or a different USB port on your computer. Note: If your eReader's battery is completely drained it can take up to 15 minutes before it reacts to being plugged into power.
  • If you're having trouble while reading a book on your Kobo Aura H2O, Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Glo, or Kobo Mini: tap the centre of the screen to bring up the Reading Menu, tap the > Home icon to return to your Home screen, then open your book again.

My Kobo glo, after charging it, went to very small print, and the words don't fit on the page. How can I reset it?


On my kobo, I have to touch the middle of the screen to get the toolbar to pop up at the bott of the screen. You should the find the usual icon.

I downloaded a book onto my kobo glo and it just says pending? What does this mean?


You likely have to authorize it again as it thinks you have downloaded it as another non-paying subscriber. Contact the outfit you ordered it from.

I cannot find how to delete an individual book. The answer is there as to how to delete all the books but not an individual book.


One way is to use a program like Calibre on your computer. When the Kobo is connected, you have access to the books on it and can individually delete them.

Problem with internet connection says when I connect my KOBO to computer and cannot sync any books. Kobo charged and can't access KOBO on computer


It could be several things. But you may need to delete Kobo and reload the app. I have had to do this on some of my programs. Your books are on the net, so they won't be lost.

First make sure your books are really (still) in your account. Log into Kobobooks.com and check your library. Here's a direct link to the library page: Sign in to Kobo with

If you don't see your books there, you didn't buy them under that user account, or they're been removed from your account. Call Kobo support in either case.

If the books are there, make sure your Kobo eReader is also logged in using the same account. To do that,
1 - Open the menu
2 - Tap Settings
3 - Tap Account

Under 'Signed in as', you should see your user account. If not, tap in Sign in and log in. After that you can sync your library with your Kobobooks.com account from the menu again.
