your power steering pump may be failing, the system is restricted check for clogged filter and check pump pressure, the steering gear (box or rack) may also be binding, check also for worn ball joints or bent links.

Just an F150? no further information......... I'll give it a shot.

Possable causes

Bad power steering pressure sensor
Bad IAC Circuit
Intermittent Vaccume leak (V8's have this issue with the PCV tubing)
Floor mat stuck over throttle :P

Power steering ford f150


It is just the broken seal which is causing the fluid to leak, replace the seal to avoid fluid leakage.

No power to fuel pump or fuel pump wiring harness...


try the electrical ignition switch on the steering wheel colum

Normally if dont see it while its running and your underneath or looking under the truck, its probably only occurring when the system which could me a seal at the pump. Have you tried having someone turn the wheel hard left and hard right while you are looking for the leak?

Power steering fluid leaks quickly out 1989 Volvo 740 GLE wagon


The most obvious places are the Power steering rack itself - at each end, and the hoses that are attatched to it.
A leak at the pump is easily spotted.

Hoses are cheaper to replace than seals on the rack (which may require a new unit)
