Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater
How do i wire a potterton EP2002 programable controller that was working with old drayton basic themostat to new honeywell digital thermostat T6620B1008.
All you need to do is look at the wiring diagram on the back of the old room stat, you will have the following:
(normally wired with these colours)
OLD COLOUR CODING
Live (sometimes called common) - Red
Neutral - Blue
Switch Live - Yellow
NEW COLOUR CODING
Live - Brown
Neutral - Grey
Switch Live - Black
All you need to do is wire up the new stat with this in mind. (please note: if the wires are not colour coded like this then do not proceed and get an electrician)
Any problems or questions let me know
I hope this helps

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I think I've done it - but don't take this as absolute truth.
For the Honeywell T6360B the original Potterton wiring should be rewired as follows:
Brown [Live] goes to terminal 1; Blue [neutral] goes to Terminal 2 and the yellow/green [which is not an earth but a switched live - i.e. gives live to the heating system when the thermostat clicks in] goes to terminal 3.
Obviously all done with the power isolated and when it was switched back on we had heating again :o)
It's been on over two hours now and all seems fine.

SOURCE: wiring honeywell digital stat
The way you wire it will depend on how the other end of your three wires are wired into your heating system. This link http://www51.honeywell.com/pacific/common/documents/DT200_Specifications.pdf
shows the various methods for wiring it and take into account the type of setup you are dealing with. You'll need to find the wiring detail ( last page) that corresponds to your setup..
Hope this helps..
