This ccan be the result of the skid pads being worn that the drum goes around on. If you can take the front panel off the dryer, the drum will be sitting on plastic skids mounted on the frame. The other thing to look for would be to see if you have any rubbing marks on the inside of the front panel to indicate it needs a little adjusting.

SOURCE: dryer squeaks while drying sounds like drum rubbing on something

A squeak can also be a slipping belt or something caught between the drum bearings usually the front but could be the back one.

My bosch Nexxt WTMC 3300 dryer makes a squeaking sound when the load is light -- drying a larger/wetter load less likely to make the noise.

I had a similar problem with a different model Bosch dryer. First I made sure the dryer was unplugged. I found, after taking the front and rear panels off, that one of the front wheels that supports the drum was broken. I replaced the wheel and it works fine with no squeaks.

Drum makes grinding sound when turned manually. Is it bearnings, belt, or other?

the grinding noise is probably the bearings as the belt usually squeels and then breaks.I m not 100% sure with your model # but some have wheels that the drum runs on and they will wear out after time ;and they also have a bearing in them. Replace the whole set of wheels if that is the problem otherwise the others will wear faster.good luck

The dryer (Bosch Nexxt 500) makes a loud grinding noise when rotating. Any idea what this may be?

The noise could be your drum rollers need lubricant or replacement.
When the drum rollers get flat spots on them they will make a bumping/thumping type of noise.
The grinding noise sounds to me like the drum rollers are in need of lubrication.

Lg dryer - front load - making a grinding noise

I also have the same problem as klrlesimmons, exactly as described. Sounds like sand is rubbing as the drum turns, and also sounds out of balance.

Repairmen replaced upper and lower glides and also the plastic bearing but not the entire bearing assembly.

When turning, loud grinding noise.

Can be a tensioner pulley with bad bearings or the rear drum bearing is shot. When the rear drum bearing goes bad, the drum drops slightly and starts rubbing and making all sorts of terrible noises. I would not run it like this as the pivot on the rear of the drum that rides in the bearing could be cutting into the support. Not a good thing.

Good Luck and hope this helps.
