Granite needs to be color matched epoxied together at the seams. If they are sitting level and flush (and Solid) a home owner solution is to use matching silicone filling the seem then cleaning off with a good solvent. tape the top on both sides before starting. The second solution works to keep out food, but may not look great if they are not flush or have not been cut cleanly and the gap is not too wide. You will need suction cup turn buckles to pull them tight. Do not do any of the above if you are not comfortable with your skill level or feel it may damage your top. Granite can be stained using the wrong products.

the under counter inserts, made from plastic moldings(standard for dishwashers) are one approach. Having a custom frame built, and installed, is strongest long term solution. And all the better if it's a sliding type, for ease of service, which you WILL need sooner or later.

I'd call a local carpenter, and show them your issue, and get this done properly.

the granite will not do well, when it's penetrated at more than 25 to 40% of it's depth.

You could have a handy person make some new brackets which attach to the new dishwasher's brackets with bolts but are made so that they line up with the existing worktop holes. You can probably use strips of soft metal with holes to fashion these. The dishwasher may have to sit slightly lower.

SOURCE: need to stabilize machine and have granite

Ask a local granite fabrication shop to get you some dishwasher mounting clips. They look like a perforated disc of metal with a small nut brazed to one side. They come with a short screw that attaches through your dishwasher mounting tabs. Place your dishwasher where you want it relative to the cabinets and pick a hole in the mounting tabs that won't leave the clip protruding and attach the clip to the chosen hole. Use masking tape on the top of your dishwasher door, wipe the bottom of the granite and the top of the clip with acetone, then use a gel-type two part epoxy from your local hardware store to attach the clip to the granite. Use enough to make the epoxy push through the perforations in the clip as this is how the epoxy grips the clip. Push the clip to the bottom of the granite and close the dishwasher door, using a wood shim or two between the top of the door and the mounting tab/clip to push the clip tight to the granite. Pull the shims out once the epoxy has cured (check the instructions on the epoxy).

You glue on a wood strip, to the underside of the counter, then screw into that. Use construction adhesive. The wood strip needs to stick down no further than the counter edge treatment, so you normally cannot see this wood strip.

Which one has more heat resistant: Granite or Silestone? Explain?

Planning to refurbish your kitchen, Now-a-days, a wide range of choices for kitchen countertops are available in the market, which make you to choose the perfect one. In case if you are looking to select granite or Silestone for your kitchen worktops. Then, as per my knowledge both are popular choices, but he Granite is a very durable natural stone with a high aesthetic value. It is heat and scratch resistant but also porous and therefore possible to stain; it needs periodic maintenance. Where as the quartz used in countertops and flooring is a man-made combination of resins and crushed quartz. The resulting surface is non-porous, meaning it is more stain resistant than granite and requires less maintenance overall. I cant figure out how to use the clips for a Franke topmount granite sink. No instructions came with the sink. It is a formica countertop.

We can't figure it out either! It seemed to come with undermount pieces (its not an undermount sink) and some blurry IKEA-style instructions. Been working on this 3 hours!

Pegasus Push Button Vessel Sink Drain with overflow

Put plumbers putty around the flange that will be in contact with the sink. When you put it into the hole, try to line up the overflow as good as possible. The nut that goes onto the bottom (tailpiece) has a rubber gasket that will go between the nut & the sink. Adding some plumbers putty here won't hurt. After all is secure, just remove the putty that squeezed out from tightening.

Removing and reinstalling

There should be removabe clamps attatched to the bottom of the cooktop which tighten with a screw to the bottom of your countertop. Loosen the screws to the countertop, then remove the screws that attach the brackets to the cooktop. The cooktop should then be able to be pulled out.
