It shipped with some software. Install the drivers on the medium, then look for an update. Use Windows Update. To use it you plug the receiver in a USB port then you flip the switch at the bottom of the mouse (containing fresh batteries). The light at the top of the mouse will shine green if batteries are still good.

I have lenovo g580 lap. i have installed easy camera but couldn't able to chat in gmail through video

You're going to have to make sure you have the drivers installed for the webcam that's on your computer as well as you have the software for it.

You also need to have Adobe flash updated all the way and enable the webcam device through properties.

You can download the drivers and such through the manufacture's website under support and drivers.

Factory reset lenovo g580

Step 1:
There are a variety of reasons you may need to reboot a Lenovo laptop. These can include the installation of a new program, the dreaded blue screen of death or to free up memory that has been hijacked by a program that is now closed. There are three ways to reboot and all are simple to accomplish.

Click on your start menu button on your screen. Click on "Shut Down" or "Turn Off Computer." Click on the drop down box if you are running a version of Windows before XP (such as 2000 or 98). Select the "Restart" option and then click "OK." On XP or later versions, click on "Restart." The laptop will then reboot. Press and hold down the "Alt," "Ctrl" and "Shift" keys simultaneously. This will bring up the Task Manager. Pressing and holding the same keys again will force the computer to shut down. Press the power button to reboot the computer. This feature should be used when the mouse has stopped working and you cannot access the start button. Hold the power button in the "Off" position for approximately 5 seconds. This will force the machine to shut down. Press or slide the button again to reboot the laptop. Use this process when you get the "blue screen of death" or the computer is not responding to either the mouse or the keyboard.

Straight from the user guide, just discovered it today because I have also been having this frustrating problem. Use Fn + F6 - it is a toggle switch to enable and disable the Touchpad. I have a Lenovo wireless mouse now instead.

How to order a mouse for the computer

determine if it is a PS2 which has a round end, generally green and standard for most computers even the newest, whereas the keyboard is usually purple. Also, try to stay away from the ball type mice as these collect dust and debris and tend to stick. I recommend USB (flat rectangular) plug type and laser or microsoft's new bluetrack technology which can be found wireless bluetooth via USB bluetooth dongle and can be used on most any surface and for less that $25 including shipping!
Here is a google link to the mouse info http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=off&site=&source=hp&q=bluetrack+mouse&aq=f&aqi=g3g-m7&aql=&oq=&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=dab957d17934ce0

Hope this helps
