Question about AOC 22"" 2216Sw 720p Widescreen LCD Monitor Black

Open Question

Hi, my problem is that the Monitor simply wouldn't come on, there is no light to indicate power. Before this happened there was a problem with intermittent pop up of the menu and changing between screen modes. I have dismantled the monitor and can see no damage to the boards and no bulging of the capacitors. Has any one got any place for me to start with regards to checking the boards. Many thanks Steve

You need your monitor repaired or replaced.
Unlike a computer, there is not much troubleshooting beyond making sure it is plugged into a live outlet and turned on which you did already.
Good luck!

It wouldn?t turn on...it would initially show the computer?s contents, then after half a second, it would simply go black...operation light is turned on (green) as if everything works!

Does your computer has multiple monitor support? Please check the slots. If there are 2 monitor attachment slot on your computer try connecting monitor to other slot.

Hope this helps.

Apple Cinema HD Display 30'' black screen, power light blinking

I don't know what might have happened, but a number of years ago I had an apple monitor and the power light on it started blinking, so I got in touch with apple and they told me that it's flashing an error code, so they told me what the blinking indicated and fixed it.

So I think the blinking of the power light on your monitor could be indicating an error code so I suggest you call apple and they will identify what the error is indicating.

My dcl9a monitor goes black

How long has your computer been on when this happens? Does the power indicator light on the monitor change color when this happens? Also, if you jiggle the mouse or press a key on the keyboard, does the monitor display come back on?

The screen seems dead

Hi, normally monitors have an indicator light that lites up when power is applied. This changes color or another lites up when it receives video signal from the computer. If no light then most likely defective monitor. Possibly the only way to positively check is to replace it with another known good monitor and connect to the PC. Power up and there should be a display. If there is then the 1st monitor is defective, if still nothing then it is the PC that is defective. It might also be worth to check/replace the power cord and/or video cable if applicable. Hopes this works out for you. Good luck and post again how things turn up.

900Proview 19in.Flat panel LCD Monitor

Hi, If no indicator lights, no reaction when push the power on button, then chances are that you have a power supply problem. If your particular brand/model has a built-in power supply then it has to be opened up and diagnose. Normally most units would show a light indicator by simply plugging it into an outlet. That light changes color or another one lites up when the power on button is pressed. Absence of the first light indicator means that the system is not getting any power at all. You would be better off seeking the services of a qualified professional. But then again, it just might be the power cord which is of course relatively easy to replace. Try using your computers cord first for the monitor if it fits and matches. Hopes this work out for you and give you an idea or two. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.

Power Failure

If you mean the Monitor is powered by an external power supply Then that indeed is an option worth trying Simply get a multiple voltage one and set it to the voltage of the existing one. There may be internal problems such as the inverter But this will be a repair shop job.

Power issue with LCD Monitor

Try another power adaptor. Check the delivered voltage and go get a universal power adaptor that has a switched for varios voltages and a number of connectors. Simply match connector to the voltage switch.
